Abstract
The reaction of <TEX>$({\eta}^5-C_5Me_5)_2K$</TEX> with <TEX>$BiCl_3$</TEX> yielded <TEX>$({\eta}^5-C_5Me_5)_2BiCl$</TEX>[I], the first organobismuth compound with <TEX>${\pi}$</TEX>-bonded cyclopentadienyl ring. The compound I which was the violet crystal (yield, 30%) was decomposed to <TEX>$PCpBiCl_2$</TEX>. The Structure of <TEX>$({\eta}^5-C_5Me_5)_2BiCl$</TEX> was identified as single crystal by X-ray diffraction method. The eliminated product <TEX>$C_{20}H_{30}$</TEX>, triclinic crystal of space group p1(Z
