About JISTaP Special Issues
The Journal of Information Science Theory and Practice, JISTaP (pISSN 2287-9099; eISSN 2287-4577), publishes Special Issues to
curate collections of papers that focus on distinctive or highly specific
topics within the field of information science and its broader intersections
with related fields, fostering a community of authors and readers who can discuss
the latest research and explore new ideas. These Special Issues often differ
from regular issues by concentrating on more narrowly defined themes or
emerging areas of study. Each Special Issue is led by Guest Editors who are
experts in their fields, playing a crucial role in defining the theme, inviting
contributions, overseeing the peer-review process, and ensuring the quality and
coherence of the issue.
Guest Editors bring their expertise and networks to
the table, which are vital for the success of a Special Issue. They work
closely with the journal's editorial team to maintain high standards and ensure
that all submissions align with JISTaP's
ethical guidelines, including originality, data integrity, and conflict of
interest management.
Special Issues are published on special occasions,
such as to commemorate significant events. For example, the Special Issue
celebrating KISTI's 60th anniversary was specifically organized to mark this
milestone.
All submissions to Special Issues undergo JISTaP's standard peer-review process,
and the journal's Editor-in-Chief or a designated Editorial Board Member
oversees the appointment of Guest Editors and the evaluation of Special Issue
proposals. This oversight ensures that the content is relevant, high-quality, and
ethically sound.
Once published, all papers in a Special Issue are
displayed on a dedicated page of the journal's website. As JISTaP is an open access journal, these papers are freely
accessible to readers worldwide, promoting wide dissemination of the research
while protecting authors' rights through appropriate licensing.
