Abstract

This paper researched overcome process of hometown complex in Jun Bong-gun's poems included in yearning of hometown and sense of poetry in Jun Bong-gun's later poems especially in Bukei Kohyang. He was a representative modernism poet. His experimental sense of poetry and his literary success were estimated as excellent results. His 40 years poetic research became a foundation which opened poetic change in stages and aesthetic world of poetry. Poetic imagination ruling whole world of un Bong-gun's poems was experience of the War 6ㆍ25. His early poems depicted the tragedy of the war symbolized as 'blood', Bukei Kohyang was based on critic of the division contradiction of Korea into north and south and the pain of losing hometown. The sense of losing hometown was internalized as an poetic overcome object that he should conquer through the whole world of Jun Bong-gun's poems. Because, in case of Jun Bong-gun, the pain of the War 6ㆍ25 is the pain of losing hometown. Therefore returning hometown through 'a road of dream' and world of self-purification through eyes and tears image reflected the most positive poetic overcome. Returning hometown meaned mental overcome, and self-purification drew new consciousness which is not alone world but our world. Overcome process of hometown complex in a collection of poems Bukei Kohyang was a turning point on world of Jun Bong-gun's poems, and a step which headed for existence transcendence in the last collection of poems Dol.
