The Korea Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences(KIHSS) is a nonprofit research organization in humanities, arts, and social sciences studies. The KIHSS favours the emergence of new research themes, multidisciplinarity within the humanities, arts, and social sciences, and interdisciplinary links with other sciences.

The Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies(ACS) is an open-access, interdisciplinary academic journal dedicated to arts and cultural studies research in all its diversity, publishing a wide range of texts: from theoretical papers on the philosophy of arts and culture to empirical research concerning specific areas of arts and cultural practices. It aims to provide an international forum for the exchange of ideas and findings from researchers across different cultures and encourages research on the impact of cultural factors on arts theory and practice.

The journal includes, but is not limited to the following fields:

Aesthetic, Art, Arts management, Architecture, Composition, Create, Dance, Culture, Critical theory, Design, Drawing, Exhibit, Film, Music, New media art, Painting, Performance, Philosophy of art, Sculpture, Style, Theory, Heritage studies, Intellectual Property and Art Studies, Philosophy of Art, etc.

We can review completed manuscripts in the following languages: English, Korean, and Chinese. But all submitted manuscripts are subject to double blind peer review. If your manuscript passes the reviewer's review, the author must submit the English version of the manuscript to us for publication.

The Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies(ACS) invites contributions of three types:

The Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies(ACS) has no restrictions on the length of manuscripts, provided that the text is concise and comprehensive.

The Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies(ACS) accepts free format submission. Your references may be in any style, provided that you use the consistent formatting throughout. When your manuscript reaches the revision stage, you will be requested to format the manuscript according to the journal guidelines.

This is an open-access journal, i.e. all articles are immediately and permanently free to read, download, copy & distribute. The journal is published under the CC BY 4.0 user license which defines the permitted 3rd-party reuse of its articles. 

The Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies(ACS) publishes articles "continuously," i.e. articles are published online as soon as they are available (peer-reviewed and copy-edited). The Journal collates them into archival "issues" (2 issues per yea) and "volumes" (one per year). Additional collections may be published for special events (e.g. conferences) and when special themes are addressed.

Submitting papers to Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies(ACS) is free of charge. We'll ask the authors to pay a post-acceptance fee of US$300 per article in order for the journal to have a sustainable development. The fee will be used to support copy editing, layout formatting, open access and online hosting and archiving.

To help support researchers in low-to-middle income countries, all KIHSS journals automatically provide full and partial waivers of article processing charges for manuscripts based on the corresponding author's listed affiliation. Authors do not need to request these waivers, they will be applied at submission.

The journal aims to preserve all the published content on digital repositories. In order to follow that, the journal commits to submit the metadata of all its manuscripts to Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information(KISTI). esides, the journal also assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) to all its issues and the contents to facilitate reaching their permanent links on the internet.

The Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies(ACS) is published by the KIHSS.
