Aims and scope

The Korean Journal of Health Equity published by the Korean Society for Equity in Health is an academic journal that encompasses a wide range of research and practical areas related to health disparities and health equity. It covers various topics, including health and social justice, health inequalities based on socio-economic status, class, region, and gender, mechanisms of health inequality, intervention research, support, and advocacy related to health equity. The primary objective of the journal is to provide a platform for researchers, activists, policymakers, and practitioners to share interdisciplinary, innovative, and reflective research and practices without barriers in the field of health equity. Through this, it aims to contribute to achieving health equity by offering original evidence and perspectives on the theory and concept of health equity, relevant research projects, policy development, as well as planned and voluntary activities, organizational and community changes, and an understanding of community development.

The Korean Journal of Health Equity does not intentend specifying or emphasizing the academic direction of a particular journal or research institution. Therefore, the articles submitted to this academic journal present various approaches and research findings interpreting the reality of resolving health disparities or achieving health equity from diverse perspectives. Researchers may employ existing evidence-based research methodologies or highlight practical issues and offer multidimensional discussions and case studies on them. This allows readers to autonomously evaluate and embrace the analytical results of the papers.
