In this study, the possibility of collaboration between local administration and security administration under the ‘Korean-style’ autonomous police system in Gyeongsangbuk-do, and sought ways to revitalize collaboration. It was confirmed that in various departments in Gyeongsangbuk-do, there is a high possibility of collaboration between autonomous police affairs and local administrative affairs in handling departmental affairs. And the 1st Autonomous Police Committee has promoted various cooperative activities to realize this. Local administration and public security administration became physically connected through the Autonomous Police Committee, but the need to revitalize informal information exchange and strengthen program-centered coordination through more frequent contact was also confirmed. In addition, several suggestions were presented. Fist, it was requested to carefully verify the effectiveness of the wide range of activities carried out by the 1st Autonomous Police Committee, select sustainable projects, and focus resources and efforts on them. Next, considering the security environment faced by Gyeongsangbuk-do, it was suggested that ‘Gyeongbuk-style Multicultural Policing’ and ‘Empty-houses Security Widening’ are necessary. Lastly, it was suggested that the Gyeongsangbuk-do Autonomous Police Committee implement a cooperative program contest so that it can play the role of an active sponsor who can induce collaboation between local administration and public security administration. Based on these analyses, some limitations and follow-up research tasks were also presented.
