Open Access (OA) refers to a model of scholarly information distribution that removes financial, legal, and technical barriers so that users can access scholarly information online for free and can freely and legally download, reproduce, disseminate, print, search, link, and otherwise use it.

As of 31 January 2024, Sungkyunkwan University Transmedia Institute will publish Trans- as an open access journal.

The CC BY-NC licence type adopted by TRANS- ensures the free reuse of journal articles.
