The effect of internal locus of control on satisfaction in romantic relationship: focused on mediating effect of self resilience

Abstract

The present study examined the mediating effect of self resilience on the relation between internal locus of control and satisfaction in romantic relationship. To examine this, 356 male and female who unmarried adults were asked to complete questionnaires of self resilience, internal locus of control and satisfaction in romantic relationship. The results showed as like followings. First, there was a significant effect of locus of control on self resilience and satisfaction in romantic relationship. The higher internal locus of control had a positive effect on self resilience and satisfaction in romantic relationship. Second, there was a significant effect of self resilience on satisfaction in romantic relationship. Third, the results supported the hypotheses that self resilience would mediate the relationship between locus of control and satisfaction in romantic relationship. self resilience had a partial mediating effect between them. Finally, limitations of the present study and suggestions for future research were discussed.
