The Constitution is the supreme law of the Republic of Korea which defines the fundamental rights of Korean citizens and provides the establishment and operations of the government. When the public authorities infringe on someone's fun damental rights guaranteed under the Constitution, the person directly involved can file a constitutional complaint to the Constitutional Court. Today, the possibility of conflict of fundamental rights is increasing with the increasing number of legislation or amendment of laws, and the development of social complexity and human rights awareness. Thus, we need to take an active interest in protecting our basic rights. In this article, we will present a brief explanation of the constitutional complaint and types of decisions of the Constitu tional Court with some cases which affected dentists after the decisions of the Constitutional Court.
Purpose: To examine the current status and limitations of several healthcare platform cases and develop effective content and models for a public oral health platform through a survey of dentists. Methods: Survey on public platforms was conducted on 362 dentists belonging to the Gyeonggi Dental Association. The survey questions consisted of 4 questions on awareness of recent issues related to platforms, 4 questions on the need for platforms, and 9 questions on essential content for public platforms. Results: In the survey, 77.9% of dentists recognized the importance of public platforms. The main features that should be included in public platforms are "student oral examination function" and "dentist locator function". And 84.3% of respon dents answer they would be willing to use a platform with these features. Conclusion: This study emphasizes the need for active participation in public platforms to offset the drawbacks of private platforms.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the long-term behavior of dental health insurance use for major oral diseases that require high treatment in children and adolescents. Methods: The trend of utilization rate was confirmed through data from the National Health Insurance Service-National Sample Cohort for 2012-2019. It was targeted at children and adolescents with records of using dental health insurance. The utilization rate of dental health insurance and treatment behavior related to dental caries and periodontal diseases were analyzed. Results: It was confirmed that the utilization rate of dental health insurance for major oral diseases increased. When non-reimbursement treatment was applied to health insurance, it tended to increase in use and to be preferred over other treatments. In addition, it was confirmed that adolescents aged 15-19 had a high need to treat periodontal diseases. Conclusions: As the utilization rate of dental health insurance is gradually increasing, it is necessary to further understand the use of health insurance. Also the application of dental health insurance for preventive treatment of children and adolescents needs to be expanded.
