Objectives : We investigated the sasang constitutional difference of physiological and psychological response in various thermal environmental condition. Method : Among 210 volunteers, 30 healthy Subjects were selected through the QSCCⅡ[a questionnaire for Constitutional dicrimination] and the manual examination of specialist in sasang constitution. Subjects consist of Soyang(少陽), Soeum(少陰), Taeum(太陰) of 10 subjects respectively. Experimental environments were set as six different conditions such like 23℃, 50%RH, 0.1m/s; 25℃, 25%RH, 0.1m/s; 25℃, 50%RH, 0.1m/s; 25℃, 50%RH, 0.4m/s; 25℃, 75%RH, 0.1m/s; 27℃, 50%RH, 0.1m/s[Temperature, Relative Humidity, wind velocity]. Skin temperature, Core temperature, Heart Rate Variability(HRV), Galvanic Skin Response(GSR) were measured from subject. Additionally, subjects were inquired comfortableness through the questionnaire. Results : From the viewpoint of external temperature sensibility, In overall experimental environments, generally Taeum type feels hotter and Soeum feels colder than other types do. In relative comfortableness, Soeum types were sensible to wind velocity change. From the viewpoint of Body temperature, Taeum type was lower and Soyang was higher than other types. the measurements of HRV and GSR showed no difference between types. Conclusions : Four Sasang constitution types show the different response to various thermal environmental conditions. Accordingly, our research could provide basic data for building the optimal thermal conditions for individuals based on Sasang constitution. Sequently, it is be able to help to build healthy environment in the everyday life.
