Abstract

Purpose: Due to the COVID-19 and inflation, participation sports companies, including fitness centers, are facing challenges. Since a fitness center must simultaneously manage facilities and operate services, both factors must be considered when developing a marketing strategy. Therefore, this study examines the effects of expanded marketing mix factors (price, physical evidence, place, people, product, and promotion) including facilities and services on the consumption behavior (satisfaction, recommendation intention, repurchase intention) of fitness center customers. Research design, data, and methodology: The data were collected from sample of 323 fitness club members in Seoul and analyzed with SPSS Win Ver.28.0 program. Result: The specific results of the study were as follows; First, extended marketing mix factors had significant positive (+) effect on satisfaction. Second, extended marketing mix factors had significant positive (+) effect on recommendation intention. Third, extended marketing mix factors had significant positive (+) effect on repurchase intention. Fourth, satisfaction had significant positive (+) effect on recommendation intention and repurchase intention. Conclusions: To encourage consumption behavior, it is necessary to convert existing customers into loyal ones by increasing satisfaction and establishing a virtuous cycle structure that recommends them to others while also improving repurchase intention.

Abstract

Purpose: Corporate management is under pressure to contribute to social values beyond profit-seeking, and interest in ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) is increasing worldwide. In the recent global climate change crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of non-financial values such as ESG is increasing. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to prepare a strategy for future ESG management activities by analyzing the impact of it on corporate performance by food companies. Research design, data and methodology: ESG-related research trends, ESG activities, and corporate performance were analyzed. After that, a regression analysis was conducted to identify the relationship between ESG evaluation grade and corporate performance. Result: ESG management activities measured by ESG scores did not significantly affect the return on assets, one of the variables of corporate performance. However, as a result of setting the return on equity as a dependent variable, ESG management activities have a nonlinear relationship with corporate performance, and ESG management activities have a positive effect on corporate performance when investment in ESG management activities is reasonable. Conclusions: These results show that food companies should engage in an appropriate level of ESG management activities to improve corporate performance.

Abstract

Purpose: Brand communication plays an important role in the credibility of consumer behavior as it enhances brand equity. This study investigates the effects of brand communication (firm-created communication, consumer-generated communication) on brand awareness, brand attitude, brand loyalty in the hotel business sector by applying the SOR theory (stimulus-organism-response theory). Research design, data, and methodology: This study was analyzed in a quantitative way using the survey results of 400 customers who had experience of visiting hotels. In this study, SmartPLS 4.0 was used to evaluate the research model. The reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity of the measurement tool were verified. Result: Result was found that consumer-generated communications had a positive effect on brand awareness and brand attitude, whereas firm-created communications had a significant effect on brand awareness. In addition, brand awareness had a positive effect on both brand attitude and brand loyalty. Finally, brand attitude was found to have a positive effect on brand loyalty. Conclusions: This study redefines the concept of where chain hotel groups should focus when providing consumers with information about their brands and services. As a result, the conceptual framework of brand communication to increase new customer visits to the hotel brand has been expanded.

Abstract

Purpose: NBS (Natural-based Solutions) characteristics as eco-friendly hotels were divided into eco-friendly indoor and outdoor to structurally verify the relationship between customers' perceived eco-friendly value, psychological well-being, customer satisfaction, and pro-environmental behavioral intention. Research design, data and methodology: This survey conducted responses to customers who had experience using eco-friendly hotels for the past two years. SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical programs were used for the collected questionnaire data. First, frequency analysis and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were verified, and structural correlation between variables was verified by covariance matrix structural equation (CB-SEM). Result: First, NBS was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on perceived eco-friendly value and psychological well-being. Second, psychological well-being was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on customer satisfaction and eco-friendly behavioral intention. Finally, Hypothesis 3 was accepted as perceived eco-value showed a significant positive (+) effect on eco-friendly behavioral intention, but Hypothesis 2 was rejected because it did not have a significant effect on customer satisfaction. Conclusions: theoretical and practical implications for the impact of NBS as an eco-friendly hotel on customers' eco-friendly behavior can be provided, as well as basic evidence for establishing efficient management strategies for hotel companies.
