Users usually search for the required information via search engines which contain locations of the information. However. as the amount of data gets large, the result of the search is often not the information that users actually want. In this paper a web guide is proposed in order to resolve this problem. The web guide uses case-based learning method which stores and utilizes cases based on the keywords of user's action and agent's visit. The proposed agent system learns the user's visiting actions following the input of the data to be searched, and then helps rapid searches of the data wanted.
With explosively increasing digital contents, library and Information center should have a new role between knowledge providers and knowledge users as information brokering organization. Electronic transaction system should be required for performing this brokering service since economic value is added to information and knowledge in information society. The developments and changes around library are keeping up with increasing building digital library and digitalizing printed sources. With the rapidly changing circumstances, the Internet is currently witnessing an explosive growth. By serving as a virtual information resource. the Internet can dramatically change the way business is conducted and Information is provided. However because of features o( the Internet like openness and information sharing, it has fundamental vulnerabilities in security issues. For Instance, disclosure of private information and line eavesdropping such as password, banking account, transaction data on network and so on are primary obstruction factors to activation of digital contents delivery on network. For high network security and authentication, this paper looks at smart card technologies and proposes multi-authentication protocol based on smart card on open network, implements and analyzes it.
Nowadays an information exchange on XML such as B2B electronic commerce is spreading. Therefore the systematic and stable management mechanism for storing the exchanged information is needed. For this goal there are many research activities for connection between XML application and database. Accordingly, A unified modeling methodology need to store the XML file on the variety database. In this paper, we propose a unified design methodology for XML applications based on variety databases using UML. To this goal, first we introduce a XML modeling methodology to design W3C XML schema using UML and second we propose data modeling methodology for object-relational database schema, object oriented database an schema and relational database schema to store efficiently XML data in databases.
A hybrid information service may include local and/or remote distributed services, both and electronic. Also, a hybrid information service can be described as one which an appropriate range of heterogeneous information services is presented to the user in a consistent and integrated way via a single interface. The purpose of this study is to suggest high-level requirements and logical architecture to design hybrid library. High-level requirements analysis for hybrid library need to contain baseline requirements, basic system requirements, searching, location, requesting, delivery and payment. A logical architecture need to consider logical architecture for hybrid library management system including user access points, hybrid library management system and hybrid library components and 5 layered architecture including presenter, coordinator, mediator, communicator and provider to achieve local simplicity while still supporting complex functionality of hybrid library.
The purpose of this paper is to propose an successful implementation plan for national R&D program integrated information system. First, we surveyed and analyzed the status and plan of the national R&D program information system in developed countries (especially, the United States and Japan) Second, we reviewed the implementation background, limitation and further plan of the information systems related to R&D program in Korea. Last, division of the work and an successful plan in implementing the national R&D program integrated information system are discussed.
This paper is mainly concerned with the matter of how organizational knowledge is represented in terms of usability by letting the members of the organization evaluate knowledge items in the problem solving situations. Organizational knowledge can be represented in the form of a visualized dynamic knowledge map since the organizational members experience constant changes in goals, kinds of problems, and the importance of alternatives to solve the given problems. The dynamic map suggested in this study is goal oriented in the sense that it represents the relationship between knowledge items across domains as well as within a domain.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the basic data for providing library information services of high quality with clients, by designing the model of MyCyberLibrary and evaluating it. The model of MyCyberLibrary was constructed based on the survey results on the information-seeking behavior of users and on the review of the existing mylibraries′functions. The model is implemented into the prototype system which consists of nine modules. Finally, we evaluated the proposed system via mail questionnaires, and proposed three suggestions to make this system a much more comprehensive and effective one.
The Dublin Core, MARC. IFLA-FRBR user communities are developing international standards for describing textual, physical and audiovisual resources to enable their resources discovery over the Internet. Therefore the metadata interoperability Problem has been exacerbated by the need for more complex metadata descriptions. In this paper we propose a new mechanism for metadata interoperability based on the new semantic web applications : IFLA-FRBR framework, INDECS metadata and an event-aware ABC models. This study introduces a new approach method which is essential to the generation of interoperable metadata descriptions, particularly in the context of multimedia contents.
As Information Technology has developed, digital library has an opportunity to change the paradigm of role of library to adjust in digital environment. Digital library has promote information services with digitization of materials. In library fare use is allowed to the public for information services. However, digital copy and transmission is simple in digital environment, to balance between owner and user is not easy but important things. Therefor, current copyright act is revised to adjust these environment but the act restrict the users′accessing digital library through interned, not complied with the motive of revision. Moreover, proposed act which is proposed to facilitate digital library services also extremely limits information services. In this monograph, I will review the copyright act related library and seek for the improved means.
