Abstract

Voice shopping is gaining attention following the trend of non-contact E-commerce by enabling people to shop via voice command. Therefore, in this study, voice shopping service heuristics using a display-mounted voice interface were developed in preparation for the future where voice shopping becomes a part of daily life in the world. First, as a theoretical approach, a literature survey of 50 papers on the design principles of ‘visual interface,’ ‘voice interface,’ and ‘shopping service’ was conducted to produce a total of 29 draft design principles. Second, as an empirical approach, a focus group interview was conducted on consumer decision-making processes in shopping experiences and information-seeking behavior within the context of shopping to draft the heuristics. This was to supplement the user experience, a weak part of the literature research. Finally, a Delphi survey asked 20 experts in UX, service planning, artificial intelligence development, and shopping to evaluate the heuristics draft developed through the above two stages. After three rounds of Delphi surveys, the final heuristics were proposed.

Abstract

This study reports on the motivational use of special libraries from a user’s perspective that investigated four motivational components: attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction (ARCS) of the library users. Even though special libraries received relatively little attention compared to public libraries, special libraries could fill the niche of public libraries for the special and specific needs of the community in the current library environments in South Korea. Qualitative data were collected through individual interviews and forty people participated in the project. The findings of this study show the four themes (ARCS) that users need motivation as a way to start using a special library, thereby staying focused and revisiting the library. It is possible that the ARCS model will contribute to the implementation, application, and practice of both special libraries and their services in the library environment. The results are expected to expand our knowledge on the motivational ARCS use of special libraries and to serve as basic data when designing motivational strategies and plans of the systems for special libraries.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of learning space Servicescape on the user satisfaction level and continuance intention and to identify moderating effect of the learning activity. The six Servicescape factors are selected after literature review and in-depth interviews; cleanliness, comfort, convenience, aesthetics, accessibility, and flexibility. The online survey is given to the university students at four-year private universities in Seoul metropolitan area. The result shows that among the learning space Servicescape factors, cleanliness, comfort, convenience, and accessibility have a significant impact on the user’s satisfaction and the user’s satisfaction response determines the continuance intention to the learning space. It is also found that the factors of cleanliness and comfort have a negative moderating effect on user satisfaction. This study implies that the result provides methods to develop the space arrangement for university libraries that provide the better-support to students’ learning experience.

Abstract

Insomnia is a chronic disease in modern society, with the number of new patients increasing by more than 20% in the last 5 years. Insomnia is a serious disease that requires diagnosis and treatment because the individual and social problems that occur when there is a lack of sleep are serious and the triggers of insomnia are complex. This study collected 5,699 data from ‘insomnia’, a community on ‘Reddit’, a social media that freely expresses opinions. Based on the International Classification of Sleep Disorders ICSD-3 standard and the guidelines with the help of experts, the insomnia corpus was constructed by tagging them as insomnia tendency documents and non-insomnia tendency documents. Five deep learning language models (BERT, RoBERTa, ALBERT, ELECTRA, XLNet) were trained using the constructed insomnia corpus as training data. As a result of performance evaluation, RoBERTa showed the highest performance with an accuracy of 81.33%. In order to in-depth analysis of insomnia social data, topic modeling was performed using the newly emerged BERTopic method by supplementing the weaknesses of LDA, which is widely used in the past. As a result of the analysis, 8 subject groups (‘Negative emotions’, ‘Advice and help and gratitude’, ‘Insomnia-related diseases’, ‘Sleeping pills’, ‘Exercise and eating habits’, ‘Physical characteristics’, ‘Activity characteristics’, ‘Environmental characteristics’) could be confirmed. Users expressed negative emotions and sought help and advice from the Reddit insomnia community. In addition, they mentioned diseases related to insomnia, shared discourse on the use of sleeping pills, and expressed interest in exercise and eating habits. As insomnia-related characteristics, we found physical characteristics such as breathing, pregnancy, and heart, active characteristics such as zombies, hypnic jerk, and groggy, and environmental characteristics such as sunlight, blankets, temperature, and naps.

Abstract

The ‘National Research Data Platform’ and the ‘Bio Research Data Platform’ were recently built and each is actively creating an ecosystem. It is built independently based on other metadata standards, which may cause future interoperability issues. The purpose of this study is to propose a basis for metadata interoperability between the two platforms. To this end, the metadata standards of each platform were analyzed, crosswork targets were selected and mapped, and the suitability of the mapped elements was verified through experts in the bio field. And more appropriate mapping elements were recommended to derive metadata elements for datasets and files. Through this, it was possible to confirm the possibility that the metadata of each platform could be semantically linked and the basis for securing interoperability.

Abstract

Drug addiction or substance use disorder is continuously observed worldwide for its risks and prevalence. In this context, numerous studies have been conducted regarding this issue. However, bibliometric analysis related to drug addiction is insufficient. In particular, it is difficult to find research that utilizes a macro-level bibliographic approach that comprehensively reflects various characteristics related to drug addiction. In this study, to reflect the multidimensional features of drug addiction, research trends in drug addiction in social science, natural science, and multidisciplinary studies were compared and analyzed. This study collected drug addiction research articles from 2002 to 2021 by searching from the Web of Science, and classified academic disciplines based on SCI(E) and SSCI information. Author keyword co-occurrence analysis was also conducted, which provided confirmation that natural science mainly studied psychoactive substances and the reward system in the brain, while drug addiction studies reflecting demographic characteristics were conducted in the domain of social science. In the multidisciplinary field, all of the above topics were covered. Author co-citation analysis was also employed, which showed that there are superstars (i.e., authors who receive a rigorous amount of citation) in the field of natural science, while in the social science domain, authors were highly cited not only at the individual level but also at the institutional level.

Abstract

Link reduction algorithms such as pathfinder network are the widely used methods to overcome problems with the visualization of weighted networks for knowledge domain analysis. This study proposed NetRSQ, an indicator to measure the goodness of fit of a link reduction algorithm for the network visualization. NetRSQ is developed to calculate the fitness of a network based on the rank correlation between the path length and the degree of association between entities. The validity of NetRSQ was investigated with data from previous research which qualitatively evaluated several network generation algorithms. As the primary test result, the higher degree of NetRSQ appeared in the network with better intellectual structures in the quality evaluation of networks built by various methods. The performance of 4 link reduction algorithms was tested in 40 datasets from various domains and compared with NetRSQ. The test shows that there is no specific link reduction algorithm that performs better over others in all cases. Therefore, the NetRSQ can be a useful tool as a basis of reliability to select the most fitting algorithm for the network visualization of intellectual structures.

Abstract

This study is a basic study for establishing a comprehensive operation plan for the Incheon Global Campus Library in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution and the post-corona era. Based on this, it was intended to propose a direction for establishing a comprehensive operation plan in the future. As a result of the study, in the case of the first collection, a mid- to long-term plan for continuous expansion of the collection is required, and in particular, it seems that the expansion of major-related collections is necessary. In the case of the second service, it is necessary to support users’ research by providing information services customized for each stage of research by users, information services customized for researchers, and research support services for departments, and it is necessary to provide information utilization education programs. Third, in the case of space, IGC users have very high demands for learning and research space, so it is necessary to improve education and related spaces that users want through space reorganization in the future. It is also necessary to expand the creative collaboration space as a place closely related to the lives of students, such as rest, etc. Lastly, in order to activate the homepage in relation to the homepage and information system, it is necessary to first expand the various contents and up-to-date data that users want on the homepage. In addition, it seems that the domestic electronic journal and DB provision plan should be implemented.

Abstract

In this study, in order to explore the contextual elements of book use that were overlooked in the existing book recommender system research, for 15 avid readers with various book search backgrounds, the contents generated in 6 book search situations were collected through the think-aloud protocol. By using content analysis from the collected book use contents, not only the internal and external appeal factors affecting book use, based on the ‘appeal factor’, the theoretical concept of the readers’ advisory service, but also information sources and search methods regarding book use were identified and categorized. The results of this study can be used to extract and reflect meaningful attribute data in the future book recommender system design process.
