Abstract

In this paper we show that spheres in <TEX>$E^3{\subset}L^n$</TEX> and pseudohyperbolic spaces in <TEX>$L^3{\subset}L^n$</TEX> are the only totally umbilic spacelike surfaces of type (I) in <TEX>$L^n$</TEX>.
