Abstract

Objectives : In the WIPO conference about a protection of intellectual property for TK and GR, it makes a demand for the necessity about an invention of TK, GR and a foundation of database. Methods : In the standard on the foundation of database, they discussed about the content and resource identification standards, the technological standards and the security and transmission standards. In a decision of intellectual property, it means the protection and recognition as a technology precedent of the material of a database. Results : The material of traditional medical care technology in Korea has massively existed in many areas. On the other hand, it is hard to make a database because it is difficult to organize and find data. In addition, a database of demanding in WIPO is not only the material of image or the texts of simple technology information, but also the use of a patent decision about traditional knowledge technology and the public sharing of a related area. A traditional medical care database consists of the core of a subject and the related area. The core part is a medical herb resource and Oriental clinical technology. Conculsions : These are necessary to detail the kind of medicine and prescription, the use, and the processing. In the related area, it needs to detail PIAS and clinic data in regarding to the industrialization. These DB have to protect the TK and the GR of Korea.
