Abstract

Trace cadmium was determined in urine by flame and nameless AAS. Inflame method, cadmium was extracted into MIBK from Cd-DDTC complex. In flameless method, samples were pretreated with 1%, Triton X-100. 1% <TEX>$HNO_3$</TEX> and matrix modifier <TEX>$Pd(NO_3)_2$</TEX>. Analysis of cadmium was, performed at <TEX>$450-750^{\circ}C$</TEX> ashing temperature by use of pyrocoated tubes. Results of analysis, flameless method superior in sample treatment and reproducibility to flame method and highest absorbance was obtained at <TEX>$550^{\circ}C$</TEX> ashing temperature. 100 mg/L <TEX>$Pd(NO_3)_2$</TEX> concentration. Proposed method were applied to the determination of cadmium in standard urine Lononorm-Metalle 3.
