Abstract
The wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (WDXRF) method for determining yttrium and scandium in industrial phosphoric acid passes all validation tests and can be used for these elements.
The proposed method's procedure is simple, fast and does not require reagents for preparation and with low operating costs. The yttrium and scandium concentrations in Tunisian phosphoric acid are in the order of 60 ppm for yttrium with a coefficient of variation of 1.09 % and about 15 ppm for scandium with a coefficient of variation of 1.33 %.
