About Journal

Journal of Ecology and Environment (JEE) (eISSN 2288-1220) is the official journal of the Ecological Society of Korea (ESK) and the Korean Society of Limnology (KSL) and endorsed by East Asian Federation of Ecological Societies (EAFES). JEE has been published for 46 years since 1977. Since 2016, JEE has adapted the continuous publication model as an online-only and open access journal. After publication period by BioMed Central (BMC) between 2016 and 2021, JEE is now published by ESK in collaboration with KSL. JEE is currently indexed in SCOPUS and we are striving to make our journal listed in SCIE.

Aims and scope

Journal of Ecology and Environment is an open access and online journal dedicated to sharing outcomes of basic ecological research, and implications or applications based on ecological research. The journal mainly focuses on basic ecological research on terrestrial and aquatic populations, communities, ecosystems and landscapes. Also, its scope includes applied issues such as biodiversity loss and climate change based on ecological research.

We are committed to represent ecological research from under-represented regions such as Eurasian ecosystems, especially Northeast Asian ecosystems. Journal of Ecology and Environment strives for prompt dissemination of research outcomes and their implications to readers, through continuous online publication and an open access policy.
