The adsorption and separation behaviors of alkali, alkaline earth and transition metal ions using a poly-dibenzo-18-crown-6 were investigated in aqueous solution. The adsorption degree(E) and distribution ratio(D) of alkali, alkaline earth metal ions were Li(I)<Na(I)<K(I) and Mg(II)<Ca(II)<Sr(II), respectively. The adsorption degree(E) and distribution ratio(D) of transition metal ions was Cu(II)<Ni(II)<Co(II)<Cd(II)<Pb(II)<Ag(I). Also, from the elution curves for mixed metal solution of Li(I)-Na(I)-K(I), Mg(II)-Ca(II)-Sr(II), Cu(II)-Cd(II)-Ag(I) and Ni(II)-Co(II)-Pb(II), the retention time(<TEX>$t_R$</TEX>) of metal ions were affected by the adsorption degree(E) and distribution ratio(D). This results showed good separation efficiency of K(I), Sr(II), Ag(I) and Pb(II) from the mixed metal solution.
