Abstract

The adsorption behaviors of transition metal ions on the poly(N,N'-bispalmitoyl-1, 12-diaza-3, 4;9,10-dibenzo-5,8-cyclopentadecane) has been determined by adsorption process in aqueous solution. The order of concentration factor(CF) and the amount of adsorption were Cu(II)<Ni(II)<Co(II)<Zn(II)<Cd(II)<Pb(II) in aqueous solution and the magnitudes were found to be inversely proportional to the hydration free energy of transition metal ions. The concentration factor(CF) of Pb(II) was much higher than thoses of the other transition metal ions and the adsorption time of Pb(II) appears to be completed within 150 min. These experimental results showed good adsorption efficiency of Pb(II) from mixtures of transition metal ions in aqueous solution.
