Abstract

Purpose: In this work, we examine several time series models to predict internet and mobile transaction amount in South Korea, whereas Jeong (2020) has obtained the optimal forecasts for online shopping transaction amount by using time series models. Additionally, optimal forecasts based on the model considered can be calculated and applied to the Corona 19 situation. Research design, data, and methodology: The data are extracted from the online shopping trend survey of the National Statistical Office, and homogeneous and comparable in size based on 46 realizations sampled from January 2007 to October 2020. To achieve the goal of this work, both multiplicative ARIMA model and Holt-Winters Multiplicative seasonality method are taken into account. In addition, goodness-of-fit measures are used as crucial tools of the appropriate construction of forecasting model. Results: All of the optimal forecasts for the next 12 months for two online shopping transactions maintain a pattern in which the slope increases linearly and steadily with a fixed seasonal change that has been subjected to seasonal fluctuations. Conclusions: It can be confirmed that the mobile shopping transactions is much larger than the internet shopping transactions for the increase in trend and seasonality in the future.

Abstract

Purpose: The importance of creativity has been emphasized in the transition from industrial society to knowledge-based society. Recently, design thinking has attracted great attention as one of the ways to increase the creativity of the organization. From the perspective of solving urban problems through collaboration between technology and citizens, the active participation of citizens is indispensable for realizing smart cities. Research design, data and methodology: From the perspective of solving urban problems through collaboration between technology and citizens, the active participation of citizens is indispensable for realizing smart cities. Results: Therefore, the purpose of this research was to design a citizen-participation type system and contents using a specific space to realize a smart city. This system utilizes the concept of space as a tool to promote innovation activities with the participation of citizens and makes it easy for users of space to participate based on urban problems derived from living labs and the internal structure and user flow line have been designed. Conclusions: It was been also used voice recognition, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data as important technologies for experiencing smart cities. The system and content were designed with an emphasis on allowing citizens to directly recognize and experience smart city technology, especially through space-based information visualization and multi-faceted stimulus elements.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to provide marketing implications for training and face-to-face service employee communication by analyzing how communication by Korean crews at foreign airlines affects passengers' perception and how this perception relates to airline service quality and customer satisfaction. Research design, data: The collection of questionnaires for the demonstration in this study has collected 300 questionnaires for about a month for Korean passengers who are aware of the presence of Korean crew on board aircraft. Results: The study analyzed the relationship between the communication ability, customer satisfaction, and reuse intention of foreign airlines. An empirical analysis of the relationship between quality of airline service, customer satisfaction, and intention of re-use can suggest the following implications based on the language and non-verbal communication capabilities of the Korean crew working for foreign airlines. Conclusions: We studied the impact of communication between Korean crews working for foreign airlines on the quality of airline service, customer satisfaction and reuse intention. The Korean crew should also work for overseas airlines and consider communication as important and expand their overall foreign language education and communication skills to have a positive impact on not only Korean passengers but also their own citizens.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to verify sellers' economic incentives for voluntarily disclosing negative information in online markets and provide practical guidelines to online sellers in terms of whether, when, and how sharing low quality to buyers increase sales. Research design, data and methodology: Our model examines the number of bidders in Internet auctions to measure potential demand and uses count data analysis following previous studies that have also analyzed the number of bidders in auctions. After checking over-dispersion and zero-inflation in our data, we have run a Poisson regression to analyze the effect of sharing negative information on sales. Results: This study presents a counterintuitive result that low-quality sellers can increase their demand by fully disclosing negative information in an online market, if appropriate risk-reducing methods are employed. Our finding thus shows that there exists economic incentive for online sellers to voluntarily disclose negative information about their products, and that the context of transactions may affect this incentive structure as the incentive varies across product categories. Conclusions: As the positive impact of disclosing negative information has rarely been studied so far, this paper contributes to the literature by providing a unique empirical analysis on the impact of sellers' honesty on sales. By verifying economic incentives of disclosing low quality with actual online sales data, this study suggests practical implications on information disclosure strategy to many online sellers dealing with negative information.
