With the Korean University Resource United System (KORUS) opening in 2017, the national university’s record management system has been turning into a unit task-oriented records management reference table. Based on the administration system operated in a standardized manner, national universities can produce and manage university records based on business transaction cards. In the process, the standard business transactions for universities’ common tasks were developed and operated for collaboration and sharing information. This study aimed to analyze the national university classification system’s current operating status and problems, focusing on common unit tasks. To this end, the characteristics of university records, the development process of the national university classification system, and its operating status were analyzed. It also investigated whether the records management reference table is suitable for use as a record management tool. In conclusion, this study suggested improvements on the national university records management reference table, which can function as a record classification and appraisal tool.
