A Study on the Precursor of <TEX>$BaTiO_3$</TEX> Synthesized in Water

Abstract

Factor analysis was applied to X-ray diffraction patterns of the precursor of <TEX>$BaTiO_3$</TEX>. For that purpose, the precursor was synthesized in water solvent system using <TEX>$Ba(NO_3)_2$</TEX> and <TEX>$TiO(NO_3)_2$</TEX> as the starting materials and calcined at various temperatures. The samples obtained from the various calcined temperatures were analyzed by the X-ray diffractometer. Factor analysis was applied to the intensity data of the X-ray diffraction patterns. As the results, three factors were found and they were found to be <TEX>$BaCO_3$</TEX>, <TEX>$BaTiO_3$</TEX> and <TEX>$Ba_2TiO_4$</TEX>. The relative concentrations of the three components were estimated during calcination.
