Purpose - The purpose of this study is to explore how advertising for multilevel marketing brands affect the salesperson's activity including customer-salesperson interactivity, work attitude, and perceived and actual performance after the campaign. Research Design, data, and methodology - This study collects experimental data, survey data, and actual sales data and applies statistical analyses such as factor analysis, t-tests, and a structural equation model. Results - The results show that advertising campaign can enhance a salesperson's selling activities and provide wide managerial implications to a multilevel marketing firm by filling the gaps for the field of advertising research. Conclusions - Managerial implications include: i) multilevel marketing firms should consider advertising campaigns as a means of changing customer responses because advertising plays a significant role in increasing familiarity with, and knowledge of, attitudes toward the brand, which also helps salespeople interact with customers; ii) multilevel marketing firms should consider brand advertising as a means to support the sales activities of salespeople including sales effectiveness, work attitudes, and perceived performance, and iii) multilevel marketing firms should consider brand advertising as a means to enhance a salesperson's pride and motivation for selling their brand, which will lead to improved sales performances.

Abstract

Purpose - The purpose of this study was to examine quality improvement priorities by examining not only quality classifications but also PCSI (Kano, 1984) of mobile app service qualities of general hospitals in the Metropolitan Area and offer potential improvements. Research design, data, and methodology - The study examined five of service qualities, including app design, reaction, convenience, safety and supply of information by precedent studies. 20 test items were selected. A total of 60 positive and negative questions to estimate customer satisfaction and PCSI was investigated. The author collected 300 copies from interviewees who made use of the app services of 13 general hospitals within one year, and classified quality factors by using table of quality assessment and also estimated the customer satisfaction index (Timko, 1993). The study made quality improvement priority by the PCSI index. Results - Reaction of the mobile app service quality ranked the highest PCSI, and payment safety ranked the highest, and customer support and supply of the information ranked high as well. It was observed that design ranked comparatively lower in these categories. Conclusion - Safety, reaction and supply of information should be prioritized to reorganize and improve the mobile app services.

Abstract

Purpose - This study intends to analyze Chinese consumers' purchase intention of Korean automobile. The aims of this study investigated to find out how product attributes and brand image affect the consumer's purchase intention of Korean automobiles in China. We consider the product attributes, brand image as evaluation criteria, also recognized as objectives for purchase intention. This study aims to analyze the positive effects on Chinese consumers' purchase intention with the variables by using the research model. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on theory of Purchase Intention, the concept of purchase intention was assessed by two factors: a) product attributes, and b) brand image to test the proposed hypotheses. The survey was conducted for 30 days, from October 17 to November 16 in 2018. With IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0 and IBM SPSS AMOS 23.0, factor analysis and regression, Cronbach's alpha and correlation were tested. 300 samples were used for this analysis. Results - As a main result, product attributes and brand image exerted significant effects on consumer's purchase intention. Thus, <H1> and <H2> were supported. The results showed that the product attributes, brand image had positive effects on purchase intention. The findings of this thesis are as follows: Firstly, automobiles' quality factors were divided into two categories like product properties (price, performance, design, economy, and safety), and brand image (awareness, favorability, reliability, and familiarity). Second, it showed that product properties and brand image had positive impacts on purchase intention of consumer. Conclusions - The impact of product attributes and brand image on consumer perceived value of Korean automobiles in China can be seen as a universal psychology of consumers who trust automobile products such as high quality, technology, ets. The results offer some insights into the extended model and have important managerial implications for Korean automobile enterprise. As the findings of this thesis show, all strategic orientations have significant and positive effects on the ability of innovation. At the same time, automobile company must pay attention to quality. As the relationship between the automobiles' performance and brand image were positive and significant, automobile companies should have comprehensive strategic orientations focused on strengthening these factors.

Abstract

Purpose - Since the local liquor industry uses the agricultural products produced in the region as the main raw material, cultivation of the industry can be a way to expand the demand for domestic agricultural products and can contribute to the income increase of the farmers. In addition, the local liquor industry can be developed into a region-specific industry differentiated from other regions by linking with the region's tourism resources. Therefore, in order to achieve various derivative effects through promotion of the local liquor industry, it is necessary to precisely understand the factors related to the purchase and consumption of local liquor which then will lead to an increase in consumption. This study analyzes the current status and problems of local liquor industries and examines the determinants of consumers' purchasing decisions of regional specialties through questionnaires. We will then propose a strategy to promote consumption of locally produced alcoholic beverages. Research design, data, and methodology - An online Domestic Consumer Survey was conducted to identify the actual purchases and uses of local liquors for 500 consumers nationwide. Based on the questionnaire results, the analysis uses an ordered probit model. Results - As a result of analyzing the effect of consumer characteristics on the purchase of local liquors, it was found that the average cost of drinking, income, local specialty, brewery experience, and health concerns have a significant effect on gender, drinking frequency. All the variables except the participation in the training of the special provincial manufacturing method were found to be statistically significant. The statistical significance was at a 1% significance level for the remaining factors excluding the bottle design. This shows that the higher taste, quality, price, and harmony with food, the higher the probability of purchasing local liquors. Conclusions - In the analysis of factors influencing the purchase intention of local liquors, it was found that factors such as taste, quality, price, and harmony with food had a significant effect. Given the diversity of purchasing factors, the importance of diversification strategies is emphasized again. In particular, it will be important to secure wide publicity for local liquors through various PR strategies.

Abstract

Purpose - Prior studies reported that the opacity of information caused stock price crash. If managers fail to disclose unfavorable information about the firm over a long period of time, the stock price is overvalued compared to its original value. If the accumulated information reaches a critical point and spreads quickly to the market, the stock price plunges. Information management by management's disclosure policy can cause information uncertainty, which will lead to a plunge in stock prices in the future. Thus, this study aims at examining the impact of disclosure quality on crash risk by focusing on the unfaithful disclosure firms. Research design, data, and methodology - This study covers firms listed on KOSPI and KOSDAQ from 2004 to 2013. Firms excluded from the sample are non-December firms, capital-eroding firms, and financial firms. The financial data used in the research was extracted from the KIS-Value and TS2000 database. Unfaithful disclosure firm designation data was collected from the Korea Exchange's electronic disclosure system (kind.krx.co.kr). Stock crash is measured as a dummy variable that equals one if a firm experiences at least one crash week over the fiscal year, and zero otherwise. Results - Empirical results as to the relation between unfaithful disclosure corporation designation and stock price crashes are as follows: There was a significant positive association between unfaithful disclosure corporation designation and stock price crash. This result supports the hypothesis that firms that have previously exhibited unfaithful disclosure behavior are more likely to suffer stock price plunges due to information asymmetry. Second, stock price crashes due to unfaithful disclosures are more likely to occur in Chaebol firms. Conclusions - While previous studies used estimates as a proxy for information opacity, this study used an objective measure such as unfaithful disclosure corporation designation. The designation by Korea Exchange is an objective evidence that the firm attempted to conceal and distort information in the previous year. The results of this study suggest that capital market investors need to investigate firms' disclosure behaviors.
