Abstract

Purpose: The purpose is to investigate the types of communication between aviation industry workers and passengers according to environmental changes following the COVID-19 pandemic. This study analyzes the impact of verbal and non-verbal communication styles of airport staff, especially those working at airline check-in counters, on passenger satisfaction. Research Design: The research design focuses on the impact of verbal communication styles and non-verbal communication factors of airline check-in counter staff, who represent the initial point of contact with passengers among airport staff, on passenger satisfaction. The survey period for sample collection was from July 1 to July 30, 2023, and the study was conducted targeting passengers boarding aircraft through Incheon Airport and Gimpo Airport. Result: First, it is important for airport staff to recognize all passengers, especially corporate customers, as corporate customers rather than simply as individuals boarding an airplane. Second, as the importance of non-verbal expressions increases due to the impact of COVID-19, physical and verbal responses are necessary. Third, it is important to check which language the passenger understands. Conclusions: Since communication through nonverbal expressions has become more important since COVID-19, airport employees need to recognize the importance of nonverbal communication. This awareness can serve as a foundation for building trust between airport staff and passengers.

Abstract

Purpose: The study aims to develop literature review on innovative leadership in order to study main areas of research and present the status of innovative leadership. The study brings out the importance of innovative leadership given the rate at which the business environment is changing. The development of literature also enhances an understanding of the innovative leadership concept. Research design, data and methodology: The study adopted a desktop research methodology. Empirical and theoretical researches and articles which are relevant to innovative leadership are reviewed and analysed. Only secondary information gathered through those articles and researches is used to analyse and build literature review on innovative leadership. Results: A literature review of both qualitative and quantitative research on innovative leadership as portrayed in literature propose the new research direction that aims at unravelling the importance of adopting innovative leadership as a leadership style. Conclusions: It is evident that innovative leadership is an area which needs more attention especially in contemporary organisations. The service delivery environment is also changing rapidly thereby calling for strategies to match such changes. This paper facilitates improved understanding of innovative leadership, proffering solutions to a number of leadership challenges within various organisations.

Abstract

Purpose: It is necessary to look at the reasons why the Korean government has failed in boosting mom and pops, even though many aid programs for independent retailers have been introduced. Furthermore, this research will provide policy makers and practitioners with new insight to improve the performance of government policies. Research design: the researcher has had an interview with the 26 practitioners to gather the right information. Furthermore, interview results have been categorized into the government-related issues, support programs and shop owner-related issues, from a practitioner's perspectives. Results: The researcher found that the confusion of governmental support organization, the lack of retail marketing experts, frequent job rotation, the lack of cooperation between bureaucrats and associations, concerned about the governmental-related issues, are failure reasons. In terms of support program issues, the research found the following reasons: no blueprint, the lack of retail experts, relevance to budget scale, and the complexity of budget implementation. Associated with shop owner-related issues, the author found that the causes of failure are closely related to aging shopkeepers, the absence of a successor and increasing dependence on a government. Conclusions: The author proposes that a government has to rebuild existing support programs for small shop owners.

Abstract

Purpose: Through an ethical supply chain, brands not only catch the eye but win over a fan base of consumers who prize credibility and consistency in what they purchase. Currently, the ethical supply chain is no longer just a manufacturing process; it has become a compelling story. It draws people's attention and wins their loyalty. This research study will examine the benefits of an ethical supply chain in attracting consumer attention and building brand loyalty. Research design, data and methodology: For this research study, A detailed method was used to search and analyze relevant articles. Initial searches used set terms in certain databases. Screening criteria were the thorough scrutiny of titles and abstracts to decide their relevance to the study at hand. Thus, to enhance the quality of data, duplicate entries were deleted. Results: Based on the analysis of the prior literature, the results highlight the power of ethical saliency, showing that consumers themselves are looking for and rewarding products that meet their ethical standards. This attention to ethically transparent brands, in turn, encourages more interest and interaction with them. Conclusions: Therefore, practitioners must transmit the firm's ethical standards through all channels of communication-investor relations materials and financial reports alike.
