Abstract

Purpose - In this paper, we consider more segmented types of markets than conventional version of ones in South Korea and explore the degree of relations between these markets and the related factors with them. In this case, ten attributes of types of markets mentioned above will be considered. To be more specific, the numerical strength is evaluated and graphical approach is expressed on two-dimensional plane, if the association exists between the considered variables. Research design, data, and methodology - This work is done by the 2013 report on the commercial building lease offered by Small Businessmen Promotion Institute (May/2013~August/2013) and exploited by statistical analyses such as correspondence analysis and a chi-squared test in IBM SPSS 23.0. Results - Findings of this paper indicate that a variable Korean market, including traditional markets, are closely connected with variables administrative district, sales and occupation instead of company, age group and business duration and the detailed associations between variables can be obtained by inspecting results of correspondence analysis. Conclusions - We can understand where the status of the Korean markets stands now through this work and also government authority and local autonomy can take advantage of these findings to enhance the revitalization of Korean markets and other markets.

Abstract

Purpose - Usage of E-services is critical for businesses to maximize work efficiency and gain competitive advantage. The aim of the study is to explore how awareness of technology and e-services usage in an emerging economy in Pakistan. The studies aimed to explore as to what extent these factors can potentially motivate transport employees towards e-services; who are generally not aware about technology and hence also not confident in using it also. Research design, data, and methodology - Employees from the three transport subsidiary units from a large private company in Pakistan were sampled for the study. Through using self-administered technique, the questionnaires were distributed during the month of April, 2016 to 189 employees. A total of 150 responses were taken further for analysis where the study found a positive link between awareness of technology and e-services usage. Results - This study found positive relationship between intention to use and e-service usage among the employees of three subsidiary units. The paper has reported 30 percent variance explained by the predicting variables in relation with e-services usage. Conclusions - Employees could be motivated to use e-services and latest technology through enhancing their awareness about their respective importance and viability. Accordingly, organizations can foster employees' intentions to use to enhance e-service usage.

Abstract

Purpose - This study explores the role of construal levels in predicting online consumer behavior on a retail website. It builds on the conceptualization that simply browsing a website and making actual purchases can be an outcome of how abstractly or concretely one thinks about that experience. This study examines the differential effects of intermediary websites' attributes and seller's product offerings in predicting frequency of visits and actual purchases. Research design, data, and methodology - Data were collected from 188 undergraduate students in a large university of Korea. Hierarchical regression model was utilized to test the proposed effect of website characteristics and seller attributes on visit and purchase. Results - We propose and find that online shopping website visits and purchase frequency have different antecedents. The results reveal that website visit frequency and purchase have different predictors and this can be explained through construal level theory. Specifically, we find purchase frequency is predicted more by website image and financial benefits can be more predictive in actual purchases. Conclusions - Consumer behavior on the internet can be delineated into website visits and actual purchases. First, uplifting the image of the website itself is much more important than just making offerings cheaper. Online shopping website should try to match its features to mental representations that customers go through from just visit (abstract) to purchase (concrete).

Abstract

Purpose - Considering the importance of housing needs to real estate market, domestic studies on real estate prices from the perspective of demand are basically based on macro-data, but relatively few are associated with micro-data of urban real estate demand. We try to find a reliable relation of elasticity of demand and commercial housing market. Research design, data, and methodology - In this paper, we have derived housing demand theoretic method and have utilized micro-data of residential family housing survey of downtown area in Kunming City in October, 2015 to estimate income elasticity and price elasticity of housing demand respectively and make a comparative analysis. Results - The results indicate that income elasticity and price elasticity of families with owner-occupied housing are both larger than those of families with rental housing. Income elasticity of housing demand of urban residential families in Kunming is far below the foreign average and eastern coastal cities level, however, the corresponding price elasticity is far higher. Conclusions - We suggest that housing affordability of urban families in western China are constrained by the level of economic development, and the current housing price level has exceeded the economic affordability and psychological expectation of ordinary residents. Furthermore, noticing the great rigidity of housing demand, the expansion space of housing market for improvement and for commodity is limited.
