Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the importance of customers' selection attributes for meal kits, which is rapidly increasing in the home meal replacement food market, and empirically analyze the effect of food selection attributes on consumer satisfaction and repurchase intention toward meal kits. Research design, data, and methodology: Based on the results of previous research, factors that customers consider the most when purchasing a meal kit are nutritional components, ingredients, hygiene, taste, and price. The empirical analysis is conducted by using structural equation modeling to determine the extent that customer selection attributes for meal kits affect customer satisfaction and repurchase intention. The survey is conducted online from January 1 to March 15, 2022, and 282 valid samples are used for the analysis. Results: The result of the analysis confirms that nutritional components, hygiene, taste, and price have a statistically significant effect on customer satisfaction and repurchase intention. However, the effect of food ingredients on customer satisfaction and repurchase intention is rejected because no statistically significant results are obtained. Conclusions: As an empirical analysis of the importance of customer selection attributes of meal kits, this study has meaningful implications for related industries and business-to-business operators and provides basic data for the strategic development of related industries.

Abstract

Purpose: Establishing a competitive advantage in the aviation market is essential as the competition among domestic airlines intensifies. Therefore, this study examined the management strategies of both large domestic airlines and low-cost airlines. Research design, data, and methodology: This study classified domestic airlines into Full Service Airlines (FSA) and Low Cost Carriers (LCC), examined each airline's current status and characteristics, and conducted case analyses of FSA and LCC based on Porter's generic competitive strategy. Results: The analyses determined that LCC primarily implemented a cost-advantage strategy, and FSA implemented a differentiation strategy. However, as competition intensified, FSA pursued cost-advantage strategies while establishing LCC through subsidiaries. There are various specific cost reduction methods, including service simplicity, scalability, high utilization, low landing fees, low-cost unit, and point-to-point flight strategies. Conclusions: LCCs are focusing on cost advantage strategies that reduce costs; however, the FSA also runs special price events that are as good as LCCs and are comparable to LCCs on some routes. Furthermore, LCC has recently expanded its mid- and long-distance routes, making competition for long-distance routes with major airlines unavoidable.

Abstract

Purpose: This research is to answer the following research questions because of the importance of learning how retired businesspeople increase their financial security and quality of life. (1) how does an entrepreneur contribute to economic development? (2) what types of investments are performed by businesspeople after retirement? (3) how entrepreneurial financial attainment capacity and anticipated net income after retirement are related? Research design, data and methodology: This research has conducted the qualitative analysis (QCA) using the current literature review. In the traditional positivist research paradigm, the quality of research is evaluated based on issues of validity, reliability, and objectivity. Contrary to the positivist approach, QCA focuses on the underlying meaning of the data. Results: This research found that finance management is increasingly challenging for businesspeople. The solutions based on the literature investigation suggest four categories. (1) Planned spending and revenue allocation, (2) Investing in the stock market, (3) Create a culture of saving, (4) Get Informed. Conclusions: This research puts forth a model to describe the connection between an investor's financial achievement potential and their desired net profits in retirement. The results of this study support the idea that the ability to achieve financial success as an entrepreneur has a salutary effect on the amount of money saved for retirement.

Abstract

Purpose: This research investigates the paths of some important economic variables: government domestic product (GDP), capital accumulation, unemployment rates. Decreasing GDP, declining capital accumulation and higher unemployment affect to South Korea economy. The macroeconomic policies discussed are all capital financed accumulation policy and an enactment of unemployment regulation. Research design, data and methodology: The GDP, capital accumulation rates and unemployment rates are the main macroeconomic issues in the South Korea. This research studies the correlations of the GDP, capital accumulation, and unemployment rates by time series data from 2000 to 2005 in a Vector Autoregressive (VAR). Results: The first, GDP relates a positive effect between the GDP and capital accumulation in the long term. The second, there is the negative relationship between GDP and unemployment rates. Economic growth was strongly supported by employment growth and by declining unemployment. The third, There is positive relationship between unemployment rates and capital accumulation. Conclusions: This research provides that fiscal policy introduce to increasing GDP, private investments and employment rates. The GDP should be major on capital accumulation to increase employment rates in South Korea.

Abstract

Purpose: Despite the numerous studies on factors impacting pro-environmental behavior, actual studies analyzing a relationship between pro-environmental behavior and eco-friendly channels (e.g., local food market and farmers' market channel) usage behavior (visit and purchasing frequency) are rare. This study investigated the relationship between consumers with positive pro-environmental behavior and eco-friendly channels usage behavior. Research design, data and methodology: The study investigated the relationship between pro-environmental behavior and eco-friendly channels (local food markets and farmers market) visit behavior by analyzing data from the Korea Consumer Agency's 2021 Korea Consumption Life Index, with a focus on the pro-environmental index. Relationship between pro-environmental behavior and whether eco-friendly channels visit or not were analyzed. Demographic variables also influence eco-friendly oriented channels visit. Data analysis used hierarchical regression, firstly inputted pro-environmental behavior, and then demographic variables inputted, and finally pro-environmental behavior and demographics interactions as moderating variables inputted. Results: Consumer's with positive behavior towards pro-environment were indeed more likely to choose local food market and farmers' market compared to other consumers. Demographic variables also effect local food market visit. Some demographic variables moderate this relationship. The results, however, differed by channel type. Conclusions: Pro-environmental behavior is closely related to eco-friendly channels (local food market and farmers; market) visit.

Abstract

Purpose: Re-handling is an important factor that reduces the productivity of container terminals. The purpose of this paper is to propose an algorithm to find the order of container movement in order to minimize the number of re-handling in the process of carrying-out. Research design, data and methodology: This paper proposes an algorithm to set the optimal carry-out order and conducted tests to evaluate the performance of the algorithm proposed in this paper. 1. tests comparing the performance of an algorithm proposed in an existing study with that proposed in this paper. 2. Performance tests for bays with complex structures. Results: Test 1 shows that the algorithm proposed in this paper performs better than the existing algorithm. Test 2 shows that the proposed algorithm can also be used in bays with considerably high complexity and that there is no major problem with using it in the field. Conclusion: While we can conclude that the proposed algorithm as a carry-out algorithm is more effective than conventional methods, research is needed on how to handle more complex bays more effectively. This is because the larger the bay, the more container combinations increase, making it difficult to find the best carry-out order.
