In the modern era of technological and communication amelioration, social networking sites (SNSs) open the door, not only in industrial sectors but also as a platform which mostly aims attention at easing the formation of social correspondence among people. On the basis of the DeLone and McLean model of information system success (2003), this study develops a modified IS model to examine the individual merits (i.e., enjoyment, expected relationships, and reputation) obtained from using SNSs. Structural equation modeling is used to investigate the above issues, and an online survey questionnaire technique is conducted with 421 respondents from the United States, and several interesting results are observed. System quality significantly affects both satisfaction and use intention, whereas information and service quality have a large impact on satisfaction but not on use intention. Individual benefits (such as enjoyment, expected relationships, reputation, and use intention) are all positively impacted by satisfaction. In addition, use intention acts as an intermediate construct and has positive effects on individual benefits. SNS practitioners should focus on awareness-raising initiatives regarding the personal benefits enabled by SNS use, as well as educational programs to encourage SNS usage at the user level, by identifying and addressing the specific individual benefits.
This study investigates the intricate relationship between technological integration and its consequences for employees, focusing on the evolving impacts of advanced technologies on organizational operations and workforce dynamics from 1983 to 2022. Utilizing a sophisticated method combining rigorous text-mining analysis and a systematic literature review, the research analyzes an extensive dataset of 7,000 articles to track the progression of technology-related topics and keywords within the literature. The findings reveal a dual nature of technology’s impact on the workforce. On one side, technological advancements are associated with challenges such as increased turnover intentions, anxiety, and health concerns. On the other, there is an emerging shift towards understanding the nuanced differences between technology-mediated interactions and traditional face-toface engagements. The study underscores the necessity of strategic technology integration that not only enhances productivity but also safeguards employee well-being. Emphasizing the need for a redefined approach to work-life balance, the research sets a foundation for future explorations into the multifaceted effects of technology within organizational contexts, specifically recommending a deeper examination of individual information behaviors and sector-specific technology impacts in response to technological advancements. This refined focus aims to contribute more directly to information science by addressing how these technological integrations influence information behaviors across various organizational layers and over time.
In recent years, the concept of a configurable process model has made many contributions, with the need for generic and reusable models. The high demand for this type of generic model is accompanied by quality requirements, as these models must be as comprehensive as possible to facilitate the task of customization. Many approaches exist to deal with configurable process models, especially in the field of process mining, including its three types of techniques: discovery, conformance, and enhancement. However, there is a lack of semantic representation in the resulting models. In this study, we propose a novel automated approach based on the extension of the Inductive Miner algorithm used to discover business process models. This method discovers a semantically annotated configurable process model using two ontologies: variability ontology and domain ontology-related concepts, which will improve and facilitate the configurable process model customization.
Thailand’s amulet business is a Buddhist commercial sector with substantial economic importance. As a result, many individuals interested in purchasing religious items seek information to guide their buying decisions. This study aims to evaluate whether various personal characteristics of information seekers, such as gender, age, occupation, or field of study, influence their behaviour when looking for information about Thai amulets. Survey research was conducted with 375 respondents interested in amulets. The online quiz was based on the Ellis Information Behaviour Model. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including t-tests, chi-squared analysis, analysis of variance, and structural equation modelling, to evaluate differences in information-seeking behaviour based on gender, age, educational background, and occupation. The findings revealed that personal characteristics such as gender, age, occupation, and field of study result in diverse information-seeking behaviours, confirming the study’s hypothesis. The study also revealed that many information seekers prefer to learn from personal sources such as credible experts or online social networking sites. Furthermore, the coefficient of variation indicated that men gender, age between 21 and 30 years, and an academic career all had a positive relationship with information-seeking behaviour. Academic career variables have the most influence on amulet collectors’ information-seeking behaviour. The research results will benefit future information services or information search systems for disseminating information about amulets in response to client behaviour and information requirements.
This study aims to examine the causal relationship between information perception and preventive behaviors regarding COVID-19 among working-age people in Bangkok and the metropolitan area of Thailand. The study investigated how information exposure, interpretation, and retention influence hygiene practices, virus spread prevention, health maintenance, and digital lifestyle adaptations among working-age individuals. Employing quantitative research methods, the sample group consisted of 421 working-age people in Bangkok and the metropolitan area. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire. Analysis involved descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. The results showed that the measurement model was well fitted to the empirical data. The findings reveal a significant correlation between information perception and the implementation of preventive measures among the working-age population in Bangkok, highlighting the pivotal role of accurate and effective information dissemination in influencing public behavior, especially now that COVID-19 has become a more manageable aspect of everyday life.
This study aims to investigate the management of library and information science (LIS) graduate programs in Thailand during the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the challenges faced by the programs’ chairs, faculty members, and graduate students during these unsettling times. This study employed a qualitative approach and used semi-structured interview protocols for data collection. A total of fifty-five participants, comprising five LIS graduate program chairs, ten faculty members, and thirty-nine graduate students, actively participated in the study. Content analysis was then utilized to analyze the interview transcripts, and the results were subsequently summarized into several themes. Based on the results, this research proposes that hybrid learning is applicable for the advancement of LIS graduate programs in the post-pandemic era. Additionally, creating more effective online teaching and learning environments and expanding collaborative teaching and learning networks are essential for the success of the programs.
