Abstract

Purpose: This study measures the influence of facilitating conditions on employees' attitudes towards the adoption of big data analytics by selected medical aid organizations in Durban. In the health care sector, there are various sources of big data such as patients' medical records, medical examination results, and pharmacy prescriptions. Several organizations take the benefits of big data to improve their performance and productivity. Research design, data, and methodology: A survey research strategy was conducted on some selected medical aid organizations. A non-probability sampling and the purposive sampling technique were adopted in this study. The collected data was analysed using version 23 of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Results: the results show that the "facilitating conditions" have a positive influence on employees' attitudes in the adoption of big data analytics Conclusions: The findings of this study provide empirical and scientific contributions of the facilitating conditions issues regarding employee attitudes toward big data analytics adoption. The findings of this study will add to the body of knowledge in this field and raise awareness, which will spur further research, particularly in developing countries.

Abstract

Purpose: Food security is a dynamic concept, which has continuously integrated new dimensions and levels of analysis over the years; this reflects the wider recognition of its complexities in research and public policy issues. Food insecurity is a major challenge for Ethiopia and for many African countries. This paper aims to identify the roles of social enterprises to overcome food insecurity. Research design, data and methodology: The research has focused on one primary question. What are the role of social enterprises to overcome food insecurity? The survey questionnaire was developed and an interview was made using enumerators. A total sample size of 400 sample households was selected randomly using the method of sampling with probability proportionate to size. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis methods were used for data analysis. Results: Results of the regression analysis show that all of the hypothesized independent variables are significantly and positively affecting post membership income of the sample households. Conclusions: all stakeholders as government, development actors and academic institutions should closely monitor and support social enterprises/cooperatives technically, financially and materially. By doing so, the full potential and contributions of social enterprises in reducing unemployment and solving the social and environmental problems can be effective.

Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the moderating effect of mindset types on experience and perceived quality in virtual reality (VR) contexts and identify the relationships among mindset types, experience, perceived quality, attitude, and purchase. Research design, data and methodology: Using a survey, a total of 250 participants were recruited from South Korea. Participants were asked whether they have been VR users who had experienced VR before participating in the survey. We used the partial least squares method to test the hypotheses based on structural equation modeling. Results: The results show that experience, including spatial, reality, and sensory experiences, has positive effects on perceived quality. Additionally, the mindset moderates the relationship between experience and perceived quality such that consumers with experience are more likely to have greater perceived quality when they have a growth mindset compared to those with a fixed mindset. The VR context's perceived quality exerts positive effects on attitude toward the VR context, while attitude has positive effects on purchase intention. Conclusion: We suggest that the consumer's mindset might work as an essential moderating factor that influences the relationship between experience and perceived quality. Our findings can help marketers plan promotion strategies more effectively and cater to the different objectives of their contexts.

Abstract

Purpose: Strategic management research and findings are usually not focused on dealing with concrete instruments for measuring individual competencies. The presence of traditional human resources management instruments, which include the aspects of job analysis, selection training, and even development, has been used frequently for many years in organizations. This study aims to investigate the relationship between employee reading habits and their innovativeness. Research design, data and methodology: The research methodology applied in this case is qualitative research methods. It is a method that involves the collection of data from non-numerical formats. The technique helped in understanding the relationship that exists between the reading habits of the employees and the competencies of innovation. Results: The present researchers figured out the meaningful connection between the independent variable (Reading Habit and dependent variable (Innovative Competency), explaining 'The Reason Why Employees Should Read More Books' and 'How Organizations Promote the Reading Habits of Employees'. Conclusions: It is clear that with reading habits among employees, innovation is easily achieved since these employees know their goals, how to achieve these objectives and overcome any challenge that might hinder innovation. Organizational management should work towards fostering positive reading cultures among employees in organizations.

Abstract

Purpose: Visual communication is the act of using elements and components that can be seen. Some of the elements include images, illustrations, drawings, and videos. The purpose of this research is to check if there is the meaningful role of visual communication for emotional marketing plan. Research design, data and methodology: The present author firstly tried to obtain prior knowledge based on numerous previous literature through qualitative content method, investigating and searching related topic in 'Scopus' and 'Google Scholar' which is one of the most famous database. This methodology has already been proved the credibility and conformability by prior researchers. Results: The current study looks at four basic aspects that will assist in analyzing the findings and results from different peer-review articles. The section will cover social media, videos, podcasts, and ads. Conclusions: Several studies also affirmed that increased use of the internet and internet for marketing causes psychological issues among adolescents. Only adults should view some of the marketing ads, but if they pop into an adolescent browser, it may cause some harmful effects. Therefore, the study concluded that moderation of online visual adverts should be done to ensure only the targeted customers view the advert.

Abstract

Purpose: This study's goal is to investigate how perceived risk of Japanese electronic product affect the negative emotion and the avoidance intentions. In addition, this is difference in the effect of perceived risk on negative emotions and avoidance intentions according to the presence or absence of substitutes. Research design, data and methodology: Perceived risks of Japan products are decided by four dimensions, they are economic risk, social risk, psychological risk and physical risk. The reach model is made by the theory of risk-avoid. We requested this survey to 5808 customers by panel and web site, received 559 replied. We used 528 questionnaires excluding unreliable data. For the analysis, smart PLS is used. Results: Psychological risk has influence on negative emotion and avoidance intension. Social risk and physical risk affected negative emotion, but did not directly affect avoidance intention. Economic risk affects avoidance intension, but it has no effect of negative emotion. The existence of Japanese products' substitute only effects the relationship of economic risk and avoidance intention. Conclusions: Korean consumers behavior their buying and using of Japan product as financial benefit and satisfaction, not only risk. It is suggested that Korean company should make and develop unique product with good price.
