The Journal of Distribution Science (JDS) was founded and published its first series of research articles in 1999. Since then, JDS continuously published research articles in the field of distribution and from 2010, focused strictly on quality and quantity to improve content and to increase the number of published research papers in order to become a world reputable scholarly journal. In 2022, JDS published more than 140 research articles and produced 4200 copies of publications, both of which were the largest numbers in the field of social sciences in Korea. Since 2016, the year JDS was indexed in SCOPUS, the journal has published 100~150 articles per year. In conjunction with a large number of articles, the journal is committed to publishing only articles that are of high quality, and in tune to the topic of interest. JDS is one of many journals published by the Korea Distribution Science Association (KODISA), which publishes the largest number of journals of any scholarly community or association in Korea.

Article Content Selection Policy:
All accepted and published papers in JDS are equally qualified and have successfully gone through peer-review process. The foundation and editorial content selection policy of JDS are as follows:
As the title of the Journal of Distribution Science indicates, JDS papers are arranged in order of discipline (subject) and content of the papers:

2. Distribution Science: Activities directly associated with distribution system, technology, and science, e.g., distribution data management and science, distribution artificial intelligence system, distribution information and communication technologies, transportation and inventory management systems, distribution channel management systems, mobile and online distribution technologies, etc.
3. Distribution and Retailing Strategy: Strategies directly associated with distribution and retailing activities, e.g., direct, indirect, dual, reverse, intensive, selective, exclusive, etc
The JDS Editorial Board is least likely to accept papers in the field of study of History, Philosophy, Religion, Political and Legal Studies, Humanities and Arts, Political Science, Military Sciences, Education, Pedagogy, Professional Training, Natural Science, and Mathematics. The JDS Editorial Board gives priority to the research areas of distribution management, distribution science, and distribution strategy.
Double-Blind Peer Review Policy
JDS has adopted a double blind peer review policy, where both the referee and the author remain anonymous throughout the process. Please remove all identifying features from the main document itself, ensuring that Authors' identities are not revealed. However, this does not preclude Authors from citing their own previous works, although Authors must cite their works in a manner that does not make explicit their identity. All contributions will be initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief for suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable are then typically sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the articles. The Editor-in-Chief's decision is final.
Copyright Policy
After publication of an article, the copyright of the article transfers and belongs to the Author(s).
Self-Citation Restriction Policy:
The self-citation refers to when an author refers to the previous work written by him/her alone or in co-authorship and cites it. Self-cites are used to compare current results of the research with earlier findings when continuing to study the same subject. It seems that the only reasonable solution for the issues of self-plagiarism, research integrity, and originality is to limit the number of self-citations. JDS Self-Citation Restriction Policy regulates that the self-citation level should not exceed 10% for an author, 20% for co-authors together, and 15% for JDS. If the reference checker (software) finds that this rule has been broken, then the manuscript will be automatically rejected by the Desk Editor without further review.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
JDS Editorial Board respects and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion by accepting submissions only on the basis of research and scholarly merit and integrity without considering race, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, gender, religion, or financial means.
Open Access Policy:
The journal will permit the author to use the article elsewhere after publication, including posting the final post-acceptance manuscript version on the author’s personal web pages or in an institutional repository maintained by the institution to which the author is affiliated, in other works or for the purposes of the author’s teaching and research, provided acknowledgement is given to the Journal as the original source of the publication.
KODISA applies the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) to works we publish (read the human-readable summary or the full license legal code).
This license was developed to facilitate open access – namely, free immediate access to, and unrestricted reuse of, original works of all types. Under this license, authors agree to make articles legally available for reuse, without permission or fees, for virtually any purpose. Anyone may copy, distribute or reuse these articles, as long as the author and original source are properly cited.
