Abstract

Purpose: This study's objective is to examine the impact of firm-specific and macroeconomic factors on the business performance of non-cyclical and cyclical sectors in Indonesian listed firms. The evaluation of business performance holds paramount importance for the achievement and long-term viability of a company. Research Design Data and Methodology: The data for 61 non-cyclicals sector companies and 57 cyclicals sector companies was gathered over a 4-year period from 2018-2021. The model integrates firm size, leverage, and sales growth as firm-specific factors, with real GDP growth and inflation rate as macroeconomic variables. ROA and ROE are indicators of a firm's business performance. The regression models are estimated using the distribution of a dynamic approach with Arellano-Bond Panel Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimation. Results: The results of the pooled sample indicate that the historical ROA and ROE have a positive relationship with the business performance of all sectors, including both non-cyclical and cyclical industries. The ROE of non-cyclical enterprises is primarily influenced by firm-specific characteristics and macroeconomic influences. Conclusion: To ensure the successful implementation of the distribution of a dynamic approach towards enhancing corporate business performance, organizations need to take into account a combination of firm-specific factors and macroeconomic factors.

Abstract

Purpose: Thisstudy aimsto analyze the distribution of audit committee, independent board of commissioners, and institutional ownership on earnings quality with strengthening earnings growth. Research Design data and Methodology: This quantitative research uses a comparative causal approach. The research population consists of manufacturing companies in the basic and chemical industry sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2022. Samples were obtained as many as 112 using purposive sampling method. The analysis technique to test the hypothesis uses multiple linear regression tests and moderation tests with an absolute difference approach. Results: The results showed that the audit committee and board of commissioners provide a significant positive distribution on earnings quality, while institutional ownership provides a significant negative distribution on earnings quality. Earnings growth strengthens the distribution of the audit committee and independent board of commissioners on earnings quality. However, earnings growth does not strengthen the distribution of institutional ownership on earnings quality. Conclusions: Audit oversight from audit committee and management performance oversight from the independent board of commissioners improves the credibility of earnings quality. Management oversight from institutional ownership reduces earnings quality. The interaction of earnings growth with maximum supervision can improve earnings quality, except for supervision from institutional ownership.

Abstract

Purpose: Trade in small and medium businesses must improve innovation performance before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The requirement for rapid innovation is being able to compete and survive post-pandemic. This research attempts to investigate the influence of organizational forgetting, knowledge management, and business agility in distributing innovation performance improvementsto SMEs in Tasikmalaya, Indonesia. Research design, data and methodology: In this research, a structural equation modeling approach with SmartPLS was applied. This research used 221 Tasikmalaya SMEs as samples. The findings of this study show that SMEs are still underrepresented in technological advancement. Results: Organizational forgetfulness does not have a significant impact on innovation performance, nor does it have an indirect impact through knowledge management. Business agility, on the other hand, has a significant indirect effect on innovation performance. Knowledge management does not have a significant and direct impact on innovation performance, but business agility has a significant impact. Conclusions: Efforts to enhance SMEs' trade must be willing to challenge the status quo or abandon knowledge that is no longer relevant to current developments to improve business agility and innovation. Technology-oriented SMEs can quickly become agile by implementing organizational forgetting. SME owners must be willing to adapt to technological advances to adopt organizational forgetfulness.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to measure how information quality, system quality, security, usefulness, and ease of use of Augmented Reality (VR) and Virtual Reality (AR) influence user satisfaction, motivating intelligent travel technology developers to improve VR/AR quality to meet customer requirements. Research design, data and methodology: This study investigates users interested in travelling in Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang City, Vietnam. The research model was implemented using an online questionnaire and face-to-face from 405 valid samples. To evaluate the scale's reliability, the study used the software SPSS 20. Test research hypotheses and evaluate measurement and structural models. This research uses AMOS 20 software. The proposed model is firmly grounded in the Information System Success model (ISS) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), providing a solid theoretical foundation for our research. Results: Results show that consumer perceptions of information quality, system quality, security, usefulness, and ease of use have a positive impact on the perceived quality of VR/AR, thereby influencing tourists' travel intention. Conclusions: The results of this research enrich the theoretical understanding of consumer behaviour toward intelligent technology products in tourism, providing management implications for manufacturers to improve the quality of tourism products and satisfy user requirements in experience before considering choosing a destination.

Abstract

Purpose: This study utilizes value chain analysis to investigate the distribution of benefits in the snubnose pompano product value chain, aiming to ascertain how these benefits are obtained by the farmers. Research design, data and methodology: The study approaches the assessment components from the economic analysis framework of the value chain. It investigates the various actors involved in the value chain of snubnose pompano fishery products in the South-Central Coast region of Vietnam from 2020 to 2022. Data collection is conducted through direct interviews with the actors utilizing survey questionnaires. Results: The results indicate that farmers, traders, and processors are key actors in the chain. The distribution of benefits between farmers and other actors has improved and tended towards greater harmony over the years. However, farmers receive benefits that are not commensurate with their value-added contribution. Farmers contribute the greatest value-added, but their profit margin share is not commensurate with the ratio of their value-added contribution to the chain. Farmers suffer the highest degrees of losses caused by price fluctuation and production risks, while other actors face smaller risks. Conclusions: The study offers some recommendations to adjust the distribution of benefits and risks among participants in this value chain.

Abstract

Purpose: Dynamic capabilities are acknowledged as pivotal factors facilitating the generation of competitive advantage and performance for enterprises across diverse sectors, notably within the food processing industry. This study endeavors to explore and examine the direct and indirect impact of dynamic capability factors, encompassing innovation capability, market orientation (customer orientation, supply chain orientation, competitor orientation), and digital orientation on the business performance of Vietnamese food processing enterprises. Research design, data and methodology: Research data was collected from 239 food processing enterprise managers and analyzed using partial least square - structural equation modeling. Results: With the exception of digital orientation, the study found evidence of the role of innovation capability and market orientation (customer orientation, supply chain orientation, competitor orientation) in the overall competitive advantage of Vietnamese food processing enterprises. Furthermore, the study underscores the contributions of innovation capability, market orientation and digital orientation in fostering performance of Vietnamese food processing enterprises. It also identifies the mediating role of competitive advantage in the relationship between dynamic capabilities and performance. Conclusions: Consequently, the study proposes a number of implications for food processing enterprise managers with the aim of establishing and enhancing competitive advantage and business performance in the future.

Abstract

Purpose: Small airports are social and economic enablers and facilitate businesses and individuals. They contribute significantly to the distribution and logistics of the local produce - be it goods or services, thereby impacting the economy but have limited access to funds and poor management restricts their development. Despite the importance, small airports in small cities struggle financially as they are unable to earn profits and have higher operating costs. In other words, this is a paradoxical situation for small airports wherein, despite losses, the regional or national public authorities still finance such airports under socio-economic obligations. Therefore, this study aims to identify the critical success factors for improving small airports' performance and propose a business model. Research design, data and methodology: Using the qualitative research, interviews with 16 stakeholders from Guwahati, Tirupati, Bhubaneswar and Dehradun airports in india were examined. Results: The analysis reveals strategic planning and low cost, non-passenger services, and development of airport economic region as the main factors contributing towards small airports' success. Additionally, providing logistics to the local businesses and creating niche markets are suggested. Conclusions: Small airports, based on their services and the means of targeting customers, could select the relevant approach to improve their overall performance and improve profitability.

Abstract

Purpose: The present study is developed with the aim of mapping the trends in scientific production related to the implementation of artificial intelligence systems for agro-food supply chains. Research design, data and methodology: The methodological approach of the research shows a descriptive documentary process based on bibliometric techniques for mapping the main indicators of the area of knowledge through the establishment of a search equation in Scopus. Results: The research results show a total of 633 documents published between 2019 and 2023, with a great annual growth rate of 61.68%; In addition to a notable participation of countries such as India, China, the United Kingdom and the United States in the generation of new knowledge related to artificial intelligence applied to food distribution systems. Conclusions: It is concluded that the rise of new artificial intelligence technologies has shown extremely important results in the development of industries worldwide, with increasingly accelerated steps; which certainly translates into the creation of spaces and incentives in the production of research aimed at understanding these dynamics and in turn to propose new alternatives and proposals for the reduction of the large technological gaps that are present within the agro-food sector.

Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the complex dynamics of consumer behavior in Vietnamese banking omnichannel environments, focusing on the roles of service consistency, service transparency, flow, perceived privacy risk, and loyalty intention. Research design, data and methodology: Using a sample of 422 Vietnamese bank customers, data analysis revealed significant relationships among the variables under investigation. Results: Firstly, service consistency was found to positively influence flow experiences and negatively impact perceived privacy risk, highlighting the importance of uniform service quality across channels in enhancing consumer engagement while mitigating privacy concerns. Similarly, service transparency was positively associated with flow experiences and negatively associated with perceived privacy risk, underscoring the importance of transparent information dissemination in fostering immersive consumer experiences while alleviating privacy apprehensions. Furthermore, both flow experiences and perceived privacy risk significantly influenced loyalty intentions, indicating the pivotal roles of engaging experiences and data security in driving consumer loyalty. Additionally, mediated relationships were observed, demonstrating the interplay between service consistency, service transparency, flow, perceived privacy risk, and loyalty intention in shaping consumer behavior in omnichannel contexts. Conclusions: These findings provide valuable insights for retailers and marketers seeking to optimize consumer experiences and cultivate loyalty in omnichannel environments by prioritizing consistency, transparency, and data privacy protection.

Abstract

Purpose: The current research investigates historical and future trends of tourist distribution channels in the tourism services business. The research examines historical patterns, current shifts, and new technologies in electricity distribution to offer insight into the distribution dynamics and advice for companies and regulators. Research design, data and methodology: The research in this case specifically employed the PRISMA approach when it comes to the data collection and research methodology. (PRISMA). The process is specifically made up of four steps, such as (1) Identification of Relevant Studies, (2) Screening and Selection Procedures, (3) Data Synthesis and Analysis, and (4) Reporting of Findings. Results: The fast-changing technology offers all opportunities to innovate the sector of tourism services. These upcoming technologies are not just reconstructing the way customers interact and operate but they are also creating room for development. Besides "the utilization of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, and blockchain, the current state of tourism distribution channels also implies some other possible consequences. Conclusions: These research results show that we should not be reluctant about adopting new technologies, we should expand direct booking systems, promote eco-friendly tourism, and use data analytics in order to provide personalized experiences.

Abstract

Purpose: The main aim of this study is to analyze and suggest new online music distribution models targeted to facilitate the development of the Korean Wave (Hallyu) music market in all locations of the world. This study is conducted through a close analysis of the prevailing distribution models, the unique challenges of the K-pop market, and the trends in new technologies. Research design, data and methodology: To address the issue of how the online music distribution market could be domesticated for the Korean music industry, a systematic review of the previous studies was conducted. The use of the PRISMA approach was followed so that an accurate and transparent method for choosing the studies is ensured. Results: According to the investigation of literature analysis, the online distribution strategy may consist of four key plannings as follows, 1. Leveraging Social Media and User-Generated Content Platforms, 2. Embracing Immersive and Interactive Experiences, 3. Fostering Direct-to-Fan Connections and Monetization, 4. Harnessing Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics. Conclusions: Finally, collaboration and strategic partnerships will be vital. The Korean music companies should seek to cooperate with the technology companies, social media platforms, and the global music streaming services so that they can grow their market, acquire new technologies, and to better their online distribution strategies.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to empirically analyze the effect of information sharing on the two dimensions of trust and logistics performance in the relationship between firms in the supply chain. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, information sharing is a variable for information competency of the entire supply chain. Moreover, we classified trust into quantitative and qualitative trust and analyzed the two paths through which information sharing reaches logistics performance. To examine these correlations, we conducted a survey among professionals in supply chain-related departments in South Korea. Based on 350 completed questionnaires, we tested the hypotheses with structural equation modeling using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. Results: We found that information sharing has a significant positive effect on trust and logistics performance, which is a typical index of supply chain performance. These results show that information itself is considered a partner to a firm's competencies in operating the supply chain and plays a major role in forming the other's competencies and trust for the present and future. Conclusions: As these competencies and trust consequentially affect logistics performance, supply chain managers must pay attention to the importance of information competency and consider ways of promoting it to improve logistics performance across the entire supply chain.
