지역주민을 위한 공공도서관의 문화 및 교육적 기능 확대에 관한 연구

초록
일반적으로 지역주민들의 문화적 욕구를 해소하고, 지역간 교육 및 문화적 격차를 해소하기 위한 공공도서관의 기능이 확대되고 있다. 본 연구는 공공도서관이 지역주민을 위한 평생교육기관으로 그리고 지역 문화컨텐츠의 중심기관으로 역할을 수행하기 위한 기능들을 확대하기 위하여 필요한 구체적인 방안들을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 지방자치단체 산하의 전국 공공도서관을 대상으로 문화 및 교육적 기능을 수행하기 위하여 현재 운영되고 있는 관련 프로그램들을 조사분석하여 문제점을 제시하고, 이를 토대로 공공도서관의 문화 및 교육적 기능 활성화 방안을 제안하였다.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present strategies for activating cultural and educational functions provided by public libraries. For this purpose, it reviews various functions of public libraries based on community as well as theoretical studies about cultural services and programs of public library. And then, it also analyzed cultural and educational programs for communities provides by public libraries of Korea. This analysis is based on (1) educational program (2) reading education program (3) user education program (4) a various cultural activities for communities
