The final purpose of reading education is to have the students get habitation of reading.'Habitation of Reading' means that students acquire a habit of reading and the habit has formed as a part of their daily lives. A habit of reading can not be formed as a part of life by only one day's reading as all kinds of actions can not be formed as habits by only one try. We can expect that students will acquire 'habitation of reading' only when they have Joy and interests in reading, motivation to read, practice and reinforcement of reading and satisfactory rewards. In this study, the characteristics of reading in the knowledge and information society were investigated and some ways to encourage successful reading education in schools we suggested.

Libraries have long experience of applying classification schemes to resources - chiefly books. The ultimate goals of classification are systematic shelving of books and ease of user's access. In order to achieve these goals, books about a particular field of knowledge should be shelved together and near each other. If not so, it is classification error. The focus of this study is, therefore, on analysing the classification error in Korea public libraries and suggesting some alternatives.

Thus, this study is prepares a foundation of school library informationization as analyzes an operational status and an educational effect with 96 school library digital resource room which are established in tool year.
One of the main issues in developing a digital library is how to implement an open digital library which can be interoperable, and diverse concepts, technology and protocols have been introduced to deal with this issue. This paper examines few approaches to education for medical librarianship - those of North America, the People's Republic of China, Japan and Korea and the various opinions in the previous studies of the .education fer subject specialist librarians. and it suggests the educational system for medical librarianship practicable in Korea, including formal degree programs, continuing education and medical librarian certificate program.
The first part of this paper clarified the importance of teacher's role in activating the school library. In the second pan, the major of this paper, the state of the art of school libraries and the perception of teachers managing school libraries without librarian certificate were investigated by questionnaire. The questionnaire to middle school and high school was planed to survey the functions, the management problems, and the improvement of school library. The followings were analyzed in more detail ; the characteristics of school library teacher, the actual condition of the library, the recognition on school library of teachers and principals, the promotion plans fer library use, and the solution for management problems.
The purpose of this study is to expand understanding among librarians of the importance of caricatures, cartoons and comics in the library collection. To do so, the writer explores the characteristics, meaning, artistic value, and benefits of this realm. The writer also examines traditional as well as changing attitudes of the public toward caricatures cartoons and comics. As this study progresses. it will prove that caricatures. cartoons and comics are very important cultural products of our time, to which all libraries should pay more attention. Thus the writer urges that the library should make a good collection in this are and make it available to the public.
This study is a bibliographical analysis on the Nam-Chungjanggong-sigo(남충장공시고), a wooden block printed book. On the view of physical bibliography, a table of contents on the Nam-Chungjanggong-sigo is compiled by a preface, a Chungjanggong's poetical works, an extra appendixes and an epilogue; and its wooden printing block has made of 52 plates. On the row of textual bibliography, text of Chungjanggong's poetical works is revised second times, such as each title or text, also title and text; and shorten for verses. And some of verses are prepared for revised the same case of compilation, but omitted in the process of last compilation.

The purpose of this study is to devise a classification scheme to arrange the agricultural information efficiently. In the first part it defines the agricultural science and studies the content and system of the agricultural science. It compares current KDC with DDC, UDC and NDC used to agriculture parts, and it studies AGRICOLA SCC. On the basis of it, this study is displayed the new classification for the agricultural science. The new classification scheme Is classified by the basic theories related to agriculture, agriculture of plants, animal agriculture, food products, and auxiliary disciplines in turn. The number of main divisions are set up 23 items.

This study intends to analyze the economic feasibility of the construction of a new public library based on the case of a plan in Buk-ku, Daegu Metropolitan City. It includes cost-benefit analysis and sensitivity analysis. The results show that the construction of a new public library in this area would be feasible from the economic point of view.

The purpose of this study is to suggest to the reference librarians In the university that how they should perform their roles under the internet environment. For this purpose, first, the environmental factors that the roles of the reference librarians should be changed are examined. Second, such two aspects of the future university library as virtual library and learning resource center are Presupposed. The seven role models for reference librarians based on these are as follows. 1) Contents Analyst, 2) Contents Manager, 3) Learning Resource Supplier, 4) Information Mediators, 5) Virtual Lecture Manager, 6) Instructor for Information Literacy, 7) Reference Resource Developer.
The author explored the survival and prosperity strategies for Korean public libraries in the age of information technology. She reviewed that public libraries can perform these strategies or not. On the basis of the review, she identified 5 problems of public libraries : shortage of libraries and collections, staff inefficiency, inadequate services, inefficient design of library facilities. And then she proposed solutions to improve the present state of public libraries in Korea ; campaigning for constructing libraries, increasing the materials budget, turning nonprofessional work to professional work of staff, and constructing libraries for safety and preservation.
Library and information science professionals have to grasp user's needs and make the best decisions when designing, acquiring, and managing library information systems. However, it is not easy for them to make the decision owing to the lack of an understanding of the characteristics of a specific user group in computer-based information systems in libraries. The aim of this study was to provide information on the characteristics and abilities of specific user groups such as male & female student groups, undergraduate & graduate ones, Sciences and Humanities majored ones etc. The actual OPAC systems were searched by specific student user groups in selected academic libraries in both Republic of Korea and the States for the purpose(Author, Title, and Subject search). Ouestionnaire was prepared and administered to Korean college students in the city of Taegu, Korea and adjacent area. Two hundred and seven usable questionnaires were obtained and analyzed. These were analyzed using descriptive, inferential statistics, and SPSS software. The major findings by data analysis of this study were described in chapters 4 and 5 of this paper in detail. Also, conclusions were drawn from the findings in this paper, and recommendations were proposed when designing, adopting, or managing a new system.
