오늘날 학교교육의 효과를 극대화하기 위한 방안의 하나로써 전 교사의 상담교사화를 강조하고 전문상담교사 자격제도 시행을 시작하였으나, 학생상담은 주로 단회기로 마치게 되는 특수성으로 인해, 기존의 단기 또는 장기적인 면담을 통해 이루어지는 상담모형의 효율성에 대한 문제점이 있다는 지적이 있어 왔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한 회기만으로 이루어지는 단회 상담방법이 단기 또는 장기 상담과 마찬가지의 효과를 얻을 수 있다는 과학적인 선행 연구 결과를 토대로, 학생상담의 효율성을 극대화하기 위한 단회 학생상담 모형을 개발하고자 하였다. 단회 학생상담의 과정은 상담 전 단계, 시작단계, 중간단계, 종결단계, 그리고 추수면담단계로 나누어진다. 본 모형의 특징으로는 상담교사가 학생의 문제해결 능력을 인정하여, 학생자신이 치료과정을 보다 확대시켜 나갈 수 있도록 학생에게 힘을 실어주고, 삶이라는 자연스런 치유과정에 문제해결을 맡길 수 있어야 한다. 단회상담의 장점으로는 시간과 경비를 절감할 수 있고, 효율성이 높고, 우리 교육현장에 잘 부합하며, 장가상담에서 발생하는 학생의 상담교사에 대한 의존성을 방지할 수 있다는 점을 들 수 있다. 앞으로, 단회 학생상담 모형의 효율성을 검증하기 위해 학교장면에서 실제로 적용해보는 경험적 연구가 뒤따라야 하겠다.
As a way of increasing the efficiency of the school education, there has been a conformity that every teacher should be functioning as a counselor in school. However, previous research has indicated that a great number of clients including students stay in counseling for a very short time. The purpose of the present study was to develop a model of the single-session student counseling model in order to increase the efficiency of counseling students in school, based on the results of previous studies on the effectiveness of the single-session therapy compared with the brief counseling, short-term therapy, or long-term therapy. The process of the single-session student counseling consists of the pre-counseling stage, the beginning stage, the middle stage, the closing stage, and the follow-up interviews. In this model, the work of a counselor with a student at the pre-counseling stage is regarded to be very important. In the beginning stage, the problem which the student has is focused. In the middle stage, then, making efforts to find strengths of the student and the solutions of the problem is followed through practical exercises. The closing stage includes dealing with unfinished business in the session and providing the final feedback to open the opportunities of counseling in the future. After counseling, the follow-up interviews are provided through face-to-face or on the phone. The teacher who wants to apply the single-session counseling model should recognize that a student has an ability of solving his problem by himself or herself. help him or herextend the counseling process, and trust the natural healing process of life to solving problems. The advantages of the single-session student counseling model are reducing time and expenses, producing high efficiency, reacting well to educational situations in Korea, and preventing the dependence of students on the counselor that may happen in the long-term counseling. In the future, much more scientific researches should be followed to apply the model to the school setting, in order to solidify the effectiveness of the single-session student counseling model.
