신입생들의 대학도서관 사이트에 관한 인식
Perceptions of Freshmen Students on the Use of A University Library Site

본 연구는 이용자 교육을 받아 본적이 없는 학부 신입생들의 대학도서관 사이트에 관한 인식을 조사, 분석하였다. 연구는 한성대학교 학부 신입생들을 대상으로 하였는데, 자료수집과정에서 식별된 인식은 도서관 홈페이지의 부분별 기능에 대한 연구대상자들의 불확신성, 어려움, 혼란, 의문점 등을 보여주고 있다. 연구결과는 도서관 사이트 이용과 관련, 신입생들의 부족한 관련지식 및 탐색기술과 더불어, 시스템 상의 미흡한 점을 보여준다. 이러한 발견 점을 토대로 이용자 교육 및 시스템 인터페이스 등의 개선을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

Abstract
This study examined the perceptions of freshmen students on the use of a university library site. The students were in the beginning month of their undergraduate program in Hansung University without being taught a formal library instruction session. The results show users experienced uncertainty, difficultly, confusion and anxiety while they were interacting with various functions of the library site. The findings revealed that the users' perceptions were originated from: (1) the insufficiency of the students' knowledge and skills related to library use and (2) the inadequacy of the library system features, in particular its interface features. Based on the findings, implications to improve library instructional services and system interfaces are suggested.
