본 연구는 Gresham과 Elliot(1990)의 중고등학생용 사회적 기술 평정 척도(Social Skill Rating System; SSRS)를 우리나라 중고등학생을 대상으로 사용할 수 있도록 하기 위해서 실시되었다. 학생용, 부모용, 교사용으로 이루어진 중고등학생용 SSRS중에서 학생용을 중고생용I로 번안하고 신뢰도와 타당도 검증을 하였다. 이를 위하여 중고등학생 402명에게 K-SSRS:중고생용I을 실시하였는데, 척도의 내적 합치도는 비교적 높은 편이었으며, 요인 분석 결과 서로 상관관계가 있는 4 요인이 추출되었다. K-SSRS:중고생용I의 4 요인은, 공감, 주장성, 자기조절, 협동성으로 명명되었다. K-SSRS:중고생용I에 대한 부가적 타당도 자료를 얻기 위해서 K-SSRS:중고생용I과 더불어, 사회적 문제 해결 질문지, 고독감 척도, 간이 정신 진단 검사를 함께 실시하였다. K-SSRS:중고생용I에 의해 평가된 사회적 기술은 사회적 문제 해결 능력에 대해서는 정적 상관을 보였고, 고독감이나 심리적 증상 차원들에 대해서는 부적 상관을 보였다. 문화에 따른 SSRS 하위 구인문화에 따른 개념적 차이와, K-SSRS:중고생용I의 하위 구인들이 예방적 개입 프로그램의 계획 및 적용에 대해서 가지고 있는 응용적 의미가 논의되었다.
This study explored the validity and the utility of the Korean version of the Social Skill Rating System - Secondary Student Form(SSRS-S Secondary Level; Gresham & Elliot, 1991). The SSRS-S Secondary Level was translated into Korean(K-SSRS: S Secondary Level I) and administered to 402 students at the secondary level. And they also completed Social Problem Solving Inventory, Loneliness Scale, SCL-90-R. Factor analysis of the K-SSRS resulted in four interrelated factors, 1 implying 'empathy', 2 'assertion', 3 'self-control', 4 'cooperation'. K-SSRS: S Secondary Level I correlated positively with social problem solving ability, and negatively with loneliness, and psychological symptoms. The implications of the cultural difference in social skills and the differential relationships of social skills to adjustment indexes, and the planning of preventive intervention were discussed.
