본 연구에서는 Horowitz의 인지역동적 관점과 Young의 도식중심적 관점에서 사용하는 도식의 개념은 무엇이며, 내담자들이 보이는 정서적 표현을 그 개인이 가진 ‘마음의 상태’와 ‘개인도식’으로 설명하는 것과 ‘초기부적응도식’와 ‘도식양식’으로 개념화하는 것은 어떤 차이가 있는 지 알아보았다. 또한 내담자의 변화를 목표로 하는 상담에서 그 변화의 기제로서 도식을 어떻게 이해할 수 있는 지 살펴보았다.
This paper aims to understand the concept of schema from the perspectives of M. J. Horowitz's Cognitive Psychodynamics and J. E. Young's Schema-Focused Theory. In addition, this paper specifically focuses on the differences between conceptualizing the client's emotive expressions as his/her state of mind, versus the client's early maladaptive schema or mode. Suggestions are presented to apply the concept of schema to providing counseling services for clients.
