본 연구는 상담 및 심리치료 분야에서 장애인이 어떻게 논의되고 이해되어 왔는지를 파악하고, 나아가 추후 연구의 필요성 및 방향성을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 상담 및 심리치료 분야의 학회지 6개(상담학연구, 상담 및 심리치료, 인간이해, 초등상담연구, 청소년상담연구, 한국아동심리치료학회지)에 출판된 38편의 논문을 연구의 기초사항, 연구 주제, 연구 대상자, 방법론 등을 중심으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애인 관련 논문은 연도별로 대략 1~2편이 발간되었다. 둘째, 분석 대상인 6개 학회지 중 5개의 장애인 관련 논문 편수가 해당 학회지에서 출판된 전체 논문의 1% 미만으로 나타났다. 셋째, 장애를 가진 가족구성원이 있는 비장애 가족의 경험에 대한 연구가 다른 주제에 비해 상대적으로 많이 이루진 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 적은 편수에도 불구하고, 비교적 다양한 ㅇ연구 방법론이 활용된 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과는 추후 상담 및 심리치료 분야에서의 장애인 관련 연구가 양적으로 증가할 필요가 있으며, 장애인 당사자에 대한 연구가 더 활발히 이루어져야 한다는 점을 시사한다.
This analysis examined how people with disabilities have been discussed and understood in the counseling and psychotherapy field. Research on people with disabilities and related topics were reviewed. The analysis included 38 articles published in six counseling and psychotherapy journals, focusing on basic descriptive statistics, research topics, participants, and methodologies. The analysis found that in five out of the six journals, less than 1% of articles published were related to disabilities. Of note, the frequency of articles about the experiences of family members of people with disabilities was relatively high when compared to other topics. Despite the limited quantity of studies on people with disabilities, various methodologies were used across these studies. The results of this analysis highlights the need for additional research on people with disabilities in the counseling and psychotherapy field, including research on various sub-groups of people with disabilities.
