본 연구는 경찰관의 탄력성과 외상후 스트레스장애의 관계에서 조직지원인식과 일의 의미가 매개 역할을 하는지 검증하기 위하여 이루어졌다. 이를 위해 현직 경찰관을 대상으로 온․오프라인 설문조사를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 이 중 직무를 수행하는 과정에서 외상성 사건을 경험한 적이 있다고 보고한 556명의 자료를 IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0 프로그램과 SPSS PROCESS(v3.5) macro를 활용하여 분석하였고, 간접효과의 유의성은 부트스트래핑 방법으로 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외상후 스트레스장애는 탄력성, 조직지원인식, 일의 의미와 모두 부적 상관을 보였고, 탄력성, 조직지원인식, 일의 의미 간에는 모두 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 탄력성과 외상후 스트레스장애의 관계에서 일의 의미의 단순매개효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 반면, 탄력성과 외상후 스트레스장애의 관계에서 조직지원인식의 단순매개효과는 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, 탄력성과 외상후 스트레스장애의 관계에서 조직지원인식과 일의 의미의 이중매개효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 경찰관의 PTSD에 대한 상담적 함의와 후속 연구 방향에 대해 논의하였다.
The present study sought to examine whether perceived organizational support and meaningful work play a mediating role in the relationship between police officers’ resilience and their PTSD. Data from 556 police officers who had experienced traumatic events at work were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and PROCESS macro. In addition, the bootstrapping method was used to examine the mediating effect. The results were as follows. First, PTSD was negatively correlated with resilience, perceived organizational support, and meaningful work. However, resilience was positively correlated with perceived organizational support and meaningful work. Second, meaningful work mediated between resilience and PTSD. However, the simple mediating effect of perceived organizational support was not significant. Third, the serial mediating effect of perceived organizational support and meaningful work on the relationship between resilience and PTSD was significant. Based on the results, implications of this study were discussed.
