본 연구는 국내에서 수퍼비전을 주제로 한 질적연구를 메타요약하여 상담자 발달을 촉진하거나 저해하는 수퍼비전 요소를 종합적으로 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 통해 향후 수퍼비전 관련 연구의 방향성을 제시하고, 양질의 수퍼비전 제공을 위한 시스템 기반을 마련하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 국내에서 수퍼비전을 주제로 발표된 질적 연구물 52편 중 연구 목적에 맞는 분석대상 연구물 9편을 선정하였다. 선정된 문헌을 분석하여 총 239개 진술문을 추출하였고, 주제가 유사한 진술문끼리 그룹화하여 25개 축약진술문을 산출하였다. 연구결과와 시사점을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 먼저, 상담자 발달에 영향을 미치는 수퍼비전 요소는 수퍼바이저 요소, 수퍼바이지 요소, 수퍼비전 시스템/환경 요소임을 확인하였다. 둘째, 수퍼비전은 수퍼바이지의 상담역량을 강화시키고, 더 나아가 상담자의 전반적인 발달과 성장을 촉진하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 편안하고 진솔한 수퍼비전 관계가 전제될 때 이와 같은 발달과 성장이 가능한 것을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 수퍼비전에서 수퍼바이지가 부정적인 경험을 하더라도 개인의 대처(예, 개인분석 등)가 상담자의 전반적인 발달을 촉진할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 분석 결과를 토대로 추후 연구의 함의와 한계점을 제시하였다.
This study used a qualitative meta-summary to comprehensively examine the components of supervision that promote or hinder counselor development. Nine papers were chosen from a pool of 52 qualitative studies on supervision in Korea. As a result, 239 statements were extracted, from which 25 abstracted statements were generated. Supervisor, supervisee, and supervision system/environmental components were identified as supervision components affecting counselor development. Furthermore, supervision strengthened the supervisee’s counseling competency and promoted the counselor’s overall development and growth. This was possible when a comfortable and reliable supervision relationship is established. Finally, individual coping could promote counselor development even if the supervisee had a negative experience in supervision. The limitations and recommendations for future research are discussed.
