본 연구는 고등학생과 대학생 441명을 대상으로 역기능적 진로사고가 진로미결정에 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고자 실시되었다. 역기능적 진로사고를 측정하기 위해 진로사고검사(Career Thought Inventory)를 번안하여 실시하였고 미결정을 측정하는 진로결정척도와 함께 분석하였다. 연구결과, 여학생이 남학생보다 역기능적 진로사고의 하위척도 중 수행불안에서만 유의하게 높게 나타났으며 학교급별 분석에서는 고등학생이 대학생보다 역기능적 진로사고와 미결정이 높게 나타났다. 진로결정척도 점수로 추출된 미결정 집단을 타 집단과 비교한 결과, 미결정집단이 역기능적 진로사고가 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 상관분석에서는 역기능적 진로사고와 확신성과는 유의한 부적 상관이 있었고 미결정과는 유의한 정적 상관이 있었다. 또한 역기능적 진로사고가 미결정에 유의한 영향을 미치는지를 회귀분석을 통해 검증한 결과, 미결정에 대해 의사결정 혼란의 영향이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해 진로미결정에 영향을 주는 인지적인 측면을 파악할 수 있고, 인지적 재구성의 과정을 학습함으로써 역기능적 진로사고에 의해 부정적인 영향을 덜 받을 수 있는 구체적인 진로상담의 방법모색이 필요함을 제언할 수 있었다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of dysfunctional career thoughts on career indecision. In this study, the Career Thought Inventory and the Career Decision Scale were used to measure dysfunctional career thoughts and career indecision, respectively. Participants for this study were 441 (248 high school and 193 college) students. Significant differences were found in the commitment anxiety by sex, and in dysfunctional career thought and career indecision by their schools. Career indecision group showed the highest dysfunctional career thought. Dysfunctional career thoughts were positively correlated with the career indecision and were negatively correlated with the career certainty. Career indecision were affected by the dysfunctional career thoughts. Implications for career counseling and future research on the dysfunctional career thoughts and career indecision are discussed.
