The present study purposed to examine the relationship between masculinity and femininity and elementary school students' career attitude maturity and career interest. In order to verify research questions, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 457 sixth-grade elementary school students, and t-test, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were carried out. As for differences in score according to gender, no difference was observed in career attitude maturity by gender, but the scores of Goal-orientation and Preparation were higher in female students than male ones. However, significant differences were observed in career interest according to gender. Male students showed higher interest in Investigative jobs, and female ones showed higher interest in Practical, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional jobs. As for factors affecting career attitude maturity, male students' career attitude was affected by masculinity but not by femininity, but female students' was affected by both masculinity and femininity. As for factors affecting career interest, masculinity affected male students' interest in Artistic, Social and Enterprising jobs but femininity did not have any effect. For female students, both femininity and masculinity affected their interest in Investigative and Enterprising jobs and only femininity affected their interest in Practical, Artistic, Social and Conventional jobs. Thus, it is necessary to conduct counseling activities in consideration of both gender and sex role identity in counseling related to career attitude and career interest. Furthermore, both masculinity and femininity should be considered at the same time in career counseling programs for female students because masculinity and femininity have a relatively more significant influence on female students than on male ones.
