본 연구는 청소년의 부․모 애착이 자동적 사고와 공격성에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울, 경기지역에 있는 중 고등학교 학생 893명(남 428명, 여 465명)이었다. 애착척도는 옥정(1998)이 번안한 부모, 또래 애착 척도 개정판(The Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment: IPPA-R)중 부․모에 대한 애착 척도를 사용하였다. 공격성 척도는 노안녕(1983)이 번안한 Buss와 Durkee(1957)의 공격성 진단 검사지로 이루어졌으며, 자동적 사고 척도는 문경주, 오경자, 문혜신(2002)이 번안한 Schniering과 Rapee(2001)의 아동기 자동적 사고 척도(Children's Automatic Thoughts Scales: CATS)를 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부․모 애착이 높을수록 (부정적인)자동적 사고가 낮고, 공격성이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자동적 사고와 공격성사이는 유의미한 정적 상관이 나타나 자동적 사고가 높을수록 공격성은 높다는 것을 보여주었다. 셋째, 부․모 애착과 공격성간의 관계에서 자동적 사고가 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 부․모 애착이 공격성에 직접적으로 영향을 주기보다는 간접적인 영향을 준다는 의미이다. 즉 부․모 애착이 자동적 사고에 유의한 영향을 미치고 자동적 사고 또한 공격성에 유의한 영향을 끼치는데, 부․모 애착과 공격성 사이에서 자동적 사고가 매개 역할을 함으로써 더 높은 관계를 보인다고 할 수 있다.
This study was an attempt to investigate the relationships among attachment to father and mother, automatic thoughts and aggression of adolescents. The total subjects were 893 students from 8th to 11th graders (428boys and 465 girls) in Seoul and Kyeonggido. The results of this study are as follows; the higher attachment to father and mother is the lower automatic thoughts is. And the higher attachment to father and mother is the lower aggression is. Automatic thoughts and aggression showed a significant positive correlation. That is, the higher automatic thoughts level is the higher aggression is. The mediating effect of automatic thoughts in relationship between the attachment to father/mother and aggression was found. When automatic thoughts was controlled, no correlation between parental attachment and aggression was shown.
