본 연구는 대학생의 선택·보상·최적화 전략과 대학생활 적응의 관계를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 수도권 소재 대학생 463명을 대상으로 대학생활 적응과 SOC 전략 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 대학생활 적응은 남학생이 여학생보다 적응 수준이 높은 것으로 나타난 반면, SOC 전략의 성별차이는 없었다. 둘째, 대학생활적응 중 대학환경적응에서 1학년의 적응수준이 3, 4학년보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, SOC 전략에서는 3, 4학년보다 1학년의 보상전략 사용이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생활적응에 대한 SOC 전략의 영향력을 알아보기 위한 분석의 결과, 여학생의 대학생활 적응에 영향을 미치는 것은 보상, 최적화, 의도적 선택인 것으로 드러난 반면, 남학생의 대학생활 적응에는 최적화, 보상 전략이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 학년별로 살펴보았을 때 1, 2, 3학년의 대학생활적응에 보상과 최적화이 영향을 미치는 반면 4학년의 경우, 최적화, 보상뿐만 아니라 상실에 기반한 선택이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between college students adjustment and SOC strategies. Data were collected through surveys undertaken with 463 college students. SOC questionnaires created by Baltes et al. (1999) had an adequate degree of reliability and construct validity. The results were as follows. First, male students adjusted better than female students, but there were no differences in terms of the SOC strategy. Second, the adaptation level of freshmen was higher than 3,4 grade students, and freshmen used compensation strategies more than others. Third, compensation, optimization, and selection strategies affected female students adaptation, whereas Optimization and compensation strategies affected male students adaptation. Compensation and optimization strategies affected 1,2,3 grade students adaptation, whereas selection strategies affected 4 grade students adaptation.
