본 연구에서는 기존의 연구들과 이론들을 기초로 결혼관련 변인들(부적응 도식, 일상적 스트레스, 부부지지, 결혼만족) 간 관계에 대한 통합적 모형을 설정하고, 구조방정식 모형을 사용하여 부적응 도식과 일상적 스트레스가 결혼만족에 미치는 영향을 지각된 부부 지지가 매개하는지를 검증하였다. 또한, 이러한 구조적 관계가 남편집단과 아내집단에 따라 차이가 있는지를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 서울과 경기 지역에 거주하는 187쌍의 부부를 대상으로 초기 부적응 도식 척도, 일상적 스트레스 척도, 배우자 지지 척도, 결혼만족도 척도를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였고 구조방정식 모형(SEM: Structural Equation Modeling)을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 부적응 도식과 일상적 스트레스가 결혼만족에 미치는 영향을 지각된 부부 지지가 부분적으로 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 연구변인들간의 관계는 남편집단과 아내집단에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 드러났다. 우선, 남편집단에서는 부부 지지가 일상적 스트레스와 결혼만족 간 관계를 매개하였으나 부적응 도식과 결혼만족 간 관계는 매개하지 않았다. 반면, 아내집단에서는 부부 지지가 부적응 도식과 결혼만족 간 관계는 매개하였으나 일상적 스트레스와 결혼만족 간 관계는 매개하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 결혼 상담에의 시사점과 제한점 그리고 추후연구를 위한 제언들에 대해 논의하였다.
Structural equation modeling was used to test theoretically based models in which maladaptive schema and daily hassle were related to marital satisfaction and those relationships were mediated through perceived marital support. The authors also examined whether these relationships differed according to the gender of the participants (i.e., husbands and wives). Our results based on a sample of 187 married couples indicated that maladaptive schema and daily hassle effects on marital satisfaction were partially mediated through marital support. In addition, the relationships among the study variables differed for husbands and wives. For husbands, marital support mediated the link between daily hassle and marital satisfaction, whereas this mediating effect was not found in the link between maladaptive schema and marital satisfaction. For wives, however, marital support mediated the link between maladaptive schema and marital satisfaction, whereas this mediating effect was not found in the link between daily hassle and marital satisfaction.
