본 연구는 기존의 분노조절 프로그램에 영화의 치료적 요인을 접목시켜 재구성한 ‘영화를 활용한 분노조절 프로그램’이 중학교 남학생의 공격성 감소에 효과가 있는지를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상자는 인천광역시에 소재하는 ㅂ중학교 남학생 2학년을 대상으로 공격성 점수가 상위 10%에 해당되는 36명의 학생들로 구성하였다. 이들은 영화를 활용한 분노조절 프로그램에 참여하는 ‘영화상담집단’, 영화를 활용하지 않은 일반분노조절 프로그램에 참여하는 ‘일반상담집단’, 어떤 프로그램에도 참여하지 않는 ‘통제집단’으로 12명씩 무선 배정되었다. 공격성 측정도구는 노안녕(1983)이 번역한 Buss와 Durkee(1957) Hostility Scale이 사용되었으며 프로그램은 두 실험집단 모두 매회 60분씩 일주일에 2회 실시되었다. 연구결과, 영화상담집단과 일반상담집단의 전체 공격성 점수가 통제집단에 비해 유의미하게 감소한 것을 볼 수 있었으며 공격성 하위요인 중에서 폭행, 부정성, 간접공격성, 흥분성에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 감소한 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 또 영화상담집단이 공격성의 하위요인 중 특히 폭행과 부정성에서 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 영화를 활용한 분노조절 프로그램이 중학교 남학생의 공격성을 감소시키는데 효과가 있는 것으로 입증되었다.
This study tested whether a movie-based anger control program reduces male middle school students' aggressiveness. The therapeutic factor of movies was added to an existing anger control program. This study referenced the Hostility Scale of Buss & Durkee (1957), translated by RhoAn-nyeong (1983). The experimental groups showed significant decreases over the control group in overall aggressiveness. Among aggressiveness subfactors: violence, negativity, indirect aggressiveness and excitability decreased. The movie-based program was particularly effective in violence and negativity. Accordingly, movies proved effective in reducing male middle school students’ aggressiveness.
