본 연구에서는 군 초급간부의 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 변인들을 확인하고 이들 간의 관계를 경험적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 임관 후 3년 이내 장교(중․소위) 및 4년 이내 부사관(중․하사)으로 구성된 육군 초급간부 515명을 대상으로 인구통계학적 정보, 자살 관련 경험, 직무만족, 직무스트레스, 분노표현, 우울, 무망감, 자살생각 등을 측정하는 설문지를 실시하였다. 영향 변인 간의 관계를 확인한 결과, 완전매개모형이 최종 모형으로 채택되었다. 구체적으로, 첫째, 직무만족 수준이 높을수록 우울 수준이 낮아져서 자살생각을 적게 하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직무스트레스 수준이 높을수록 분노억제를 더 많이 하게 되고, 그에 따라 우울 및 무망감 수준이 증가하게 되어 자살생각이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 분노조절 수준이 높을수록 무망감 수준이 낮아져서 자살생각을 적게 하게 되며, 또한 분노억제 수준이 높을수록 우울 및 무망감 수준이 높아져서 자살생각을 많이 하게 되는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구의 시사점 및 제한점을 논의하였다.
This study, underwent with 515 junior officers of armed forces, identified predictors of suicidal ideation and investigated their relation among them. The instruments included measures of demographic variables, suicide-related experience, job satisfaction, job stress, anger expression, depression, hopelessness, and suicidal ideation. The full mediation model was preferred to the partial mediation model. Particularly, the results revealed that (a) suicidal ideation decreased when job satisfaction increased, as it led to a decrease in depression, (b) an increase in job stress led to more anger suppression, which in turn increased both depression and hopelessness, and ultimately increased suicidal ideation. (c) the higher anger control was, the lesser suicidal ideation was as reducing hopelessness, and (d) the higher anger suppression was, the higher suicidal ideation was as increasing both depression and hopelessness. This paper ends with implications and limitations of the current study.
