본 연구는 행동중독의 6가지 준거를 바탕으로 스마트폰 중독 척도를 개발하고 타당성을 검증하고자 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 스마트폰 선행연구에서 193개의 최초 예비문항을 추출한 후, 행동중독의 6가지 요인(현저성, 기분조절, 내성, 금단, 갈등, 재발)을 대표할 수 있는 40개의 최종 예비문항을 선정하고, 대학생 457명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 하위요인 별로 신뢰도를 분석하여 24개의 최종 문항을 선정하였다. 먼저, 스마트폰 중독이 위계적인 구조로 구성되어 있는지 확인하기 위하여 스마트폰 중독을 정점으로 6가지 하위요인을 가지는 위계적 2차 요인모형에 대한 확인적 요인분석을 실시한 결과, 모형의 적합도가 양호한 수준인 것으로 확인되었다. 다음으로 신뢰도 분석결과, 내적합치도(Cronbach α)가 .93으로 신뢰할 수 있는 수준인 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 준거타당도를 확인하기 위하여 성인용 간략형 스마트폰 중독 자가진단 척도(S 척도)와 스마트폰 중독 척도(SAS; Smartphone Addiction Scale)와의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과 각각 .84, .93으로 타당한 것으로 확인되었다. 연구결과, 본 도구는 신뢰성과 타당성이 확보된 것으로 나타났으며, 스마트폰 사용에 대한 행동중독의 평가, 연구 및 치료에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 추후연구를 위한 논의와 시사점 및 한계점을 제시하였다.
The aim of this study was to develop and validate a smartphone addiction scale based on 6 behavioral addiction criteria. 40 items representing 6 factors of behavioral addiction were selected as preliminary items and final 24 items were adopted based on reliability testing. Confirmatory factor analysis using the first 6 factors underneath ‘Smartphone Addiction’ as a second-order factor was used to assure the validity; satisfactory goodness of fit was determined and the reliability of the scale was confirmed. By confirming a criterion-related validity, significant correlations between the Smartphone Addiction Proneness Scale for Adults (S-scale) and Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS) are validly verified and as a result the scale can be utilized to assess smartphone use addiction. Implications and limitations for future studies based on the results of this study are discussed.
