본 연구는 성인애착과 양육행동의 관계를 정서조절곤란과 결혼불만족이 매개하는 구조모형을 검증하고자 하였다. 모형검증을 위해, 만 3∼5세 자녀의 부모 총 704쌍의 자료를 수집하였고, APIM 모형을 적용하여 분석하였으며, 부정양육행동과 긍정양육행동을 각각 독립모형으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모 각각의 애착불안이 긍정양육행동에는 정서조절곤란을 완전매개로 혹은 정서조절곤란과 결혼불만족의 순차적 이중매개로 영향을 미쳤고, 부정양육행동에는 직접 영향을 미치거나 정서조절곤란을 부분매개로 영향을 미쳤다. 아버지의 애착회피도 긍정양육행동에는 직접 혹은 간접적으로-결혼불만족 혹은 정서조절곤란을 부분매개로 혹은 정서조절곤란과 결혼불만족의 순차적 이중매개로-, 부정양육행동에는 정서조절곤란을 완전매개로 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나 어머니의 애착회피는 결혼불만족을 완전매개로 긍정양육행동에만 영향을 주었고, 부정양육행동에는 어떠한 직․간접 영향도 미치지 않았다. 둘째, 배우자의 양육행동에 영향을 미치는 성인애착의 효과는 아버지들에게만 나타났다. 보다 구체적으로, 아버지의 애착불안/회피가 어머니의 긍정양육행동에는 아버지의 정서조절곤란과 어머니의 결혼불만족의 순차적 이중매개로, 어머니의 부정양육행동에는 아버지의 정서조절곤란을 매개로 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 제한점과 앞으로의 연구 방향이 논의되었다.
This study aimed to confirm the mediating effects of difficulties in emotion regulation and marital dissatisfaction on the relationship between parental adult attachment and behaviors. Data was collected from 704 parental units with children ages of 3-5, and analyzed using the APIM model. Results were as follows: First, Parental attachment anxiety positively affected parenting behaviors through the complete mediation of difficulties in emotion regulation and through the sequential double mediation of difficulties in emotion regulation and marital dissatisfaction. Negative parental behaviors were directly affected through the partial mediation of difficulties in emotion regulation. This was especially true for paternal attachment avoidance; however, while maternal attachment avoidance positively affected parenting behaviors through the complete mediation of marital dissatisfaction, it had no effect on negative parenting behaviors. Second, parental adult attachment’s effect on their spouses' parenting behaviors was observed exclusively among fathers. Significance, limitations and directions for future research are discussed.
