메뉴본 연구에서는 기업상담의 세 주체(조직, 상담자, 내담자) 간 삼각관계 역동 속에서 기업상담자가 비밀보장과 관련하여 어떠한 윤리적 갈등을 경험하며, 이에 대해 어떻게 대처하는지 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 기업상담자 11명을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하였고, 합의적 질적 방법(CQR)을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 4개 영역, 14개의 범주, 37개의 하위범주가 도출되었으며, 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 기업상담자가 경험한 비밀보장 관련 윤리적 갈등은 갈등의 주체가 누구인지에 따라 ‘조직의 상담정보 요청 상황에서 갈등함’, ‘내담자의 비밀보장/상담정보 요청 상황에서 갈등함’, ‘비밀보장과 관련해서 상담자의 역할에 대해 내적으로 갈등함’으로 분류되었으며, ‘상담 및 상담센터에 대한 상호 인식의 차이’, ‘조직의 특성’, ‘개인의 특성 및 이해’ 등의 요인들이 비밀보장 관련 윤리적 갈등을 촉발하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 비밀보장 관련 윤리적 갈등을 경험한 기업상담자는 의사결정 과정에서 ‘내담자’, ‘조직’, ‘상담자’, ‘관계’, ‘상담센터’ 등을 종합적으로 고려하는 것으로 나타났으며, 비밀보장 관련 갈등상황에서 ‘상담자의 판단으로 정보를 공유하지 않음’, ‘정보를 공유함’, ‘대안적 결정’과 같은 방식으로 대처하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 토대로 기업 및 조직 상담의 실제 및 후속 연구에 대한 시사점을 논하였다.
This study explored confidentiality-related ethical conflicts that workplace counselors experience and how they make decisions about them. In-depth interviews were conducted with 11 workplace counselors and analyzed using the consensual qualitative method. The analysis resulted in 4 domains, 14 categories and 37 subcategories. Confidentiality-related ethical conflicts experienced by workplace counselors were classified as ‘conflicts when the organization requests counseling information’, ‘conflicts when the client requests confidentiality/counseling information’, and ‘internal conflicts about counselor roles’. It was found that factors such as ‘differences in mutual recognition of counseling’, ‘organizational characteristics’, and ‘individual characteristics and interests’ triggered confidentiality-related ethical conflicts. Workplace counselors comprehensively considered ‘client’, ‘organization’, ‘counselor’, ‘relationships’, and ‘counseling center’ in the decision-making process. Counselors coped with these conflicts using strategies such as ‘not sharing information at the judgement of counselor’, ‘sharing information’ and ‘alternative decision-making’. The implications for workplace counseling practice are discussed.
